PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Nick Williams (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Pollock Johnny (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Well, the cameraman is lingering on a pretty young lady for a bit too long there. Keep your eyes on the fighters buddy or you'll miss the fighter intros!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 4 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Nick Williams!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Pollock Johnny!
The judges for this bout are Frank Dennis, Tiny Johnson and Daniel Franklin.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Johnny wants to clinch up but Williams keeps it at a distance.
A nice combination there by Williams.
Johnny changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Williams tries to avoid it but Johnny manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Williams to the ground. Williams escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Williams swinging wilding here.
Some wild striking there from Williams.
Johnny closes the distance and clinches up with Williams, looking for a takedown. Johnny pushes Williams against the cage but Williams circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
Johnny takes a punch to the jaw and another one to the bread basket.
Williams lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Johnny circles away quickly and effectively.
Johnny checks a low kick from Williams.
Williams stalks Johnny and leaps in with a furious combination of punches. Uppercuts and crosses smash into Johnny's face. Johnny staggers backwards, shaken.
A punch combination from Williams misses.

Johnny shoots in for a takedown and gets it.

That's one minute gone in the round.

Johnny is looking for a kimura here.

Johnny is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Williams doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Johnny.
Johnny trying to control from half guard but Williams is working away.
Johnny is pressing down on Williams's thigh, looking to free his foot. Williams is holding on for now.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.

Johnny seems to be looking for submissions.
Johnny is looking to advance position but Williams won't allow it.
Johnny looks gassed!

Johnny is working for a kimura but Williams is defending it quite comfortably.
Johnny seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Williams does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.

Johnny is trying to work for a kimura. He's got his hands clasped together - this could be trouble! No, Williams has managed to free his arm - good work.
Williams has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Johnny is working away from the top position though.
Williams on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Williams tries to get out of the position.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Johnny trying to mount his opponent but Williams defends it.
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Johnny sitting in half guard, looking to land shots. Williams defending well though.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
Johnny fails with a takedown attempt from distance.
Nick Williams has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Pollock Johnny.
Williams misses with a jab, cross combination.
No joy there for Williams, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Nick Williams seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Johnny takes a kick to the side of the head.
Johnny swings away with a leg kick that misses.
Williams fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.

Johnny shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat.
Johnny advances to half guard.
Williams is looking to escape.
Williams tries to get to full guard but Johnny has control of the leg.
Johnny moves nicely into side control.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Williams is working hard to escape and get back to his feet. After a battle for position, Johnny asserts his dominance and retains side control.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A close round but Pollock Johnny will probably get the nod.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!


Johnny shoots in and drives through. Williams sprawls well.
Williams with a poor takedown

and Johnny counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.
Williams wants to get back to his feet but Johnny is in a dominant position and won't allow it.

Johnny drops back for a leg here. A bit of a high risk move... He's looking for a kneebar by the looks of things. Now both of them are looking for submissions. Johnny seems to have locked his on tight now - Williams screams in pain and taps out furiously! It certainly was a high risk move but it's paid off for Johnny, as he picks up the win!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:48 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Kneebar). Pollock Johnny!
