Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Dmitry Boitsov (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Akoni Gray (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Rumors backstage are that the fighters have been paid to keep it standing but we know that would never happen in MMA!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Dmitry Boitsov! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Akoni Gray! The judges for this bout are James Atkins, Paul Tew and Sam Margolis.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Gray wants to slow Boitsov down by chopping away at his legs. Gray has done a lot of speed work in the buildup to this fight. Boitsov gets his head snapped back by a nice shot there. Boitsov closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into Gray's guard. Boitsov drops back, looking for a kneebar! Gray looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Gray looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Gray! Boitsov tries to bench press Gray off him but Gray keeps the position. Gray wants to stand but Boitsov has his arm trapped. Boitsov is moving his hips around well on the bottom and has managed to get back to half guard. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Gray tries to stand but his arm is trapped. Boitsov is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though. Boitsov trying to control here.
Gray really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Boitsov. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
That's one minute gone in the round. Boitsov looking for submissions from an awkward position here. Gray tries to stand but his arm is trapped. Gray escapes and gets back to his feet. Dmitry Boitsov seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Gray stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Gray wants it to stay on the feet. Gray wants to counter with a clinch but Boitsov pushes him away. Gray gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Boitsov to score an easy takedown into full guard. Boitsov's corner is telling him to maintain position. Gray is doing well to control the posture of his opponent and prevent any damage. Boitsov trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Boitsov trying to control but Gray is working from the bottom. Boitsov drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Gray dives on top into guard.
Gray stands up and waves to Boitsov to follow him. Gray misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Boitsov.
Boitsov shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Gray manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage. Boitsov trying to control the position from guard on top but Gray is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Boitsov being controlled here momentarily.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Boitsov trying to control but Gray is working from the bottom. Boitsov thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position. Boitsov is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control. Boitsov drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Gray manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Boitsov has Gray in his guard. Gray has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Boitsov is proving hard to escape from.
That's four minutes gone in the round. My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer. Boitsov is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Gray defends well. Boitsov might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground. Gray wants to get up but he can't break Boitsov's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Boitsov had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Gray defends it easily. Gray is looking to stand up but Boitsov won't let him. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Akoni Gray dominated that round. The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!

The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet. Boitsov missing with a left hand there. Gray was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one. Gray lands a nice leg kick that just misses Boitsov's sensitive parts. Gray throws a sloppy head kick and Boitsov moves out of range easily. Boitsov closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard. Gray is not content to let Boitsov control the position.

That's four minutes gone in the round. Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless. Boitsov wants to pass to mount but Gray is defending the position. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Gray is staying active underneath Boitsov, who seems content to just control the action from this position. Boitsov is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, Gray has managed to free his arm - good work. Boitsov is keen to just control but Gray is a slippery customer. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up.
The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Boitsov waving his hands out in front of him, looking to distract Gray. Gray tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Boitsov was well out of range. Poor timing from Gray. Boitsov takes an uppercut right on the jaw but it doesn't phase him. Boitsov looks to land a left hand but Gray moved out of range nicely. Boitsov dodges the punch combination from Gray.
Boitsov takes a step back and watches a body kick go sailing past his mid section.
Boitsov darts in trying to clinch and Gray counters with a head kick that drops Boitsov to the mat! Boitsov scrambles across the canvas and gets back to his feet, still wobbly! We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Boitsov on the wrong end of a nice hook. Boitsov fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt. Boitsov takes a nice looking leg kick right on the meat of his thigh there.
That's one minute gone in the round. Gray throws a jab but it's blocked by Boitsov. Boitsov fails with a takedown attempt from distance. Gray throws out a counter right but Boitsov avoids it with no problem. Gray defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Boitsov. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Dmitry Boitsov. That's going to take a lot out of him. Boitsov fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Gray sprawls well initially but Boitsov persists and gets the takedown into half guard. Boitsov is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Gray defends it well. Boitsov wants to take a breather but Gray is having none of it. Boitsov is trying for a kimura here. Gray looks like he's in a lot of pain... and he's tapping out! Boitsov wins by kimura!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:56 of round 3, we have a winner by way of Submission (Kimura). Dmitry Boitsov! A very excited looking Dmitry Boitsov rambled incoherently for about 5 minutes post fight about how awesome he is. It was kinda funny for a while but then everyone got annoyed.
