Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Myron Cardenas (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ian Higgins (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Myron Cardenas!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Ian Higgins!
The judges for this bout are Cecil Peabody, Gwen Towbar and Daniel Franklin.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Cardenas takes the fight into the clinch.

Cardenas pulls guard effortlessly.
Higgins wants to stand but Cardenas is controlling his posture from full guard.

Cardenas is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Higgins is aware though and is defending well.
Cardenas striking off his back but it's not causing Higgins any problems.
Cardenas manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Higgins manages to get himself to full guard.

Higgins pulls Cardenas in to control the position.
Let's hope that Higgins has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.

Higgins lands a nice shot that snaps Cardenas's head back.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Nice straight punches there by Higgins. You know Roy Jones Jr respects the hands of Higgins.
Higgins shuffles to his left behind two crisp jabs. Cardenas eats them both and turns towards Higgins to reposition himself and eats a stinging right hand-left hook combo.

Cardenas jumps guard but Higgins stands there with Cardenas around his waist. Cardenas gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.

Cardenas moves forwards but Higgins connects with a nice, crisp jab.
Higgins bobs and weaves and unloads with a good uppercut.
Cardenas looks to land a right hand but Higgins moved out of range.
Cardenas takes a punch to the jaw and another one to the bread basket.
Higgins misses with a body kick.
Cardenas throws a counter high kick but Higgins was just alert enough to avoid it.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
