Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Luis Tanko (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Salo Gonalez (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Fingers crossed for an exciting fight - I'm sure both fighters are looking for a nice under the table bonus!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Luis Tanko! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
3 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Salo Gonalez! The judges for this bout are Matti Vanhoillinen, Tarja Halkonen and Anni Minnemäki.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Gonalez shoots in and drives through. Tanko sprawls well. Tanko seemed to be looking to counter by closing the distance. Tanko pushes Gonalez up against the cage in a clinch. Tanko is looking for a takedown up against the cage. Gonalez gets underhooks though and prevents the takedown attempt. Tanko tries to score a body lock takedown but Gonalez shows good agility there to stay on his feet. Gonalez slows down the pace here.
Gonalez is working hard here but doesn't seem to be able to control effectively, up against the cage. Gonalez working aggressively here.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Tanko misses the knee to the body. Nice hip positioning from Gonalez.

Gonalez jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Tanko walks away with a smile on his face. Gonalez gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head. Luis Tanko has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Salo Gonalez. Tanko closes this distance looking for a takedown but Gonalez circles away. Gonalez fails with a takedown attempt. Tanko throws a big counter combination but Gonalez scrambles out of danger and avoids any damage.
That's one minute gone in the round. Gonalez moves into the clinch successfully.

Gonalez shoots in but doesn't get the takedown and Tanko counters by moving into the clinch. Tanko has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics Gonalez uses from the top position.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Gonalez trying to control but Tanko is working from the bottom. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Tanko tries to land a sweep but no joy. Gonalez is fighting to break Tanko's control of his arms but Tanko is doing a good job of controlling the position at the moment. Tanko has an active guard here but Gonalez has managed to pass into half guard.

Still in half guard, Gonalez seems content to control. Gonalez works his foot free and advances to mount. Tanko holding onto his opponent's waist for dear life, as Gonalez tries to land some strikes to get him to release his grip.
Gonalez goes for an armbar but Tanko turns quickly into his guard - lovely anticipation from Tanko.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Gonalez keeping moving, preventing Tanko from controlling successfully. Tanko lands a couple of elbows. Gonalez is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent. Tanko slips effortlessly into side control - very nice. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Tanko wants to stand but Gonalez has his arm trapped. Gonalez gives up the full mount - oops, sloppy defensive grappling there! And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Luis Tanko dominated that round. The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!
Tanko fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Gonalez avoids it really well and circles away. A telegraphed takedown attempt from Gonalez is defended easily by Tanko. Tanko is looking to counter the offense by Gonalez and move into the clinch. Gonalez stuffs the takedown. Gonalez blocks a jab. Tanko closes the distance and clinches. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Gonalez tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Tanko smiles and moves away.

Tanko gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily and Gonalez counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Luis Tanko. That's going to take a lot out of him.
That's one minute gone in the round. Tanko tries to clinch but Gonalez is having none of it. Tanko tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Gonalez defends well and Tanko ends up having to push Gonalez into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch. Luis Tanko is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Gonalez dives in and grabs Tanko's left leg, looking for a takedown. Tanko pushes down on Gonalez's head and hops out. Nice sprawl there from Tanko as Gonalez shoots in. Tanko misses with a few strikes there.
Tanko dives in and scores a takedown into Gonalez's guard. Tanko stays in close to Gonalez's body and controls the position. Gonalez wants to control here, rather than go for any submissions from the bottom. At least for now. Gonalez doesn't do any damage with a couple of strikes from the bottom.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity. Tanko drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Gonalez is trying to control the position but Tanko postures up. Tanko with a couple of shots to the head there. Not particularly brutal. Tanko stops Gonalez from standing up. Tanko looking to pass the guard. Tanko trying to control the position from guard on top but Gonalez is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Tanko content to strike from guard, landing some decent shots. Gonalez is looking for a triangle here but Tanko uses the submission attempt to pass into side control.

That's four minutes gone in the round. Tanko working the ground and pound. Gonalez struggling a bit here. Tanko advances to mount. Gonalez slips a leg in and gets back to half guard. Luis Tanko overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Tanko is thwarting Gonalez's attempts to control the position. Tanko looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Tanko slaps away a takedown attempt from Gonalez, before circling back to the center of the mat. As Gonalez tries to get set, Tanko tries to push him back and clinch up but Gonalez manages to avoid the attempt. Gonalez fails in his attempt to clinch. Gonalez closes the distance and clinches up with Tanko, looking for a takedown. Gonalez pushes Tanko against the cage but Tanko circles to the side and manages to break the clinch. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Tanko looking for a takedown here - he's got it. Tanko's corner is telling him to maintain position. Gonalez takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.
That's one minute gone in the round. Gonalez controls Tanko momentarily but Tanko frees himself. Tanko trying to control the position from guard on top but Gonalez is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Tanko passes Gonalez's right leg, so he's now in half guard. Well, if Tanko is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.
It looks like Tanko is going to stand back up.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so. Gonalez is looking to control Tanko's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Gonalez avoid being mounted? Tanko wants to lay and pray for a moment but Gonalez keeps working.
The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity. Tanko dives in for a single leg takedown but Gonalez sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage. Tanko shoots in and drives through. Gonalez sprawls well. Gonalez throws a right and a left that both miss. Gonalez defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Tanko. Tanko fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Gonalez, pushing him back against the cage. Tanko breaks from the clinch.
Gonalez lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Tanko circles away quickly and effectively.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Gonalez doesn't succeed with the takedown so Tanko counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility. Gonalez wants to stand up but Tanko is controlling him. Tanko passes easily into side control. Nice work. Tanko taking a breather here. Tanko wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Gonalez, who protects the arm well.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Gonalez is looking to regain half guard here but Tanko keeps moving and retains side control. Tanko wants to lay and pray for a moment but Gonalez keeps working. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Tanko in side control lands a nice looking series of punches and elbows.
And that's the end of the fight! Luis Tanko showed his dominance in that final round. Well I reckon that's a shut out for Tanko, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
