Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Viavao Kaho (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Mathew Ridgeway (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Kaho comes into the arena with Joey B - Tonga (Feat. Sarkodie) blaring out of the sound system. Ridgeway has chosen The Forgotten War as his entrance music. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 14 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Mathew Ridgeway!
The judges for this bout are Lou da Vinci, David Schapiro and Columbo Gatti.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Ridgeway looks for the body kick but Kaho saw that one coming.
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Kaho.
Ridgeway tries a quick counter leg kick but Kaho is wise to it.
Kaho is trying hard to land a takedown here. Ridgeway sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.

The fighters circle momentarily. Ridgeway darts into range and connects with a nice straight punch.
Ridgeway lands a really nice looking cross but Kaho seems unphased.

Kaho tries to counter with a takedown but Ridgeway is quick to defend against it.

Kaho manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Ridgeway on his heels. He'll look to pass Ridgeway's guard now, I'm sure.

Kaho is pushing down on Ridgeway's leg trying to pass to half guard. Ridgeway is fighting to maintain full guard but Kaho has managed to sneak the leg through.

Kaho is pressing down on Ridgeway's thigh, looking to free his foot. Ridgeway is holding on for now.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

Kaho is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Ridgeway is just riding it out for now. Kaho eventually gives up the hold.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Kaho is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.
Kaho is looking to advance position but Ridgeway won't allow it.
Ridgeway felt the need to train up his defensive grappling in the buildup to the fight. Presumably he was expecting to be in a difficult position like this, so let's see if he can get out of it.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
Ridgeway wants to improve his position but Kaho is controlling well.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.

A solid leg kick lands there for Ridgeway.
Ridgeway lands with a cross.
Ridgeway dips down and scores with a jab to the body.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.


Ridgeway throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Kaho stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly.
Kaho displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Ridgeway throws out the jab.
No luck for Kaho with that takedown attempt.
Mathew Ridgeway seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Ridgeway connects with a leg kick. He turned his hip over nicely there.
Ridgeway misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.

Kaho shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Ridgeway as he jumps to the side.

A clash of legs there as Kaho blocks the low kick.
Nice cross by Ridgeway.
Ridgeway throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Ridgeway connects with a right hand. Kaho shakes it off.


Kaho is rocked!
Ridgeway drops a shoulder and throws an uppercut that cracks Kaho right on the button. Kaho goes down! Ridgeway follows him to the mat and finishes the job with more strikes! Ridgeway gets the win via TKO!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:49 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Mathew Ridgeway!
Mathew Ridgeway decided to thank the fans in attendance for making a great atmosphere. It seemed to go down pretty well.
