Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Siusiakov Pindolov! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Takashi Tiura! The judges for this bout are Sosuke Kotani, Yukihiro Shimada and Hirohito Nitta.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Pindolov tries to keep at a distance but Tiura has taken the fight into the clinch. Tiura holding his opponent close, against the cage.
Pindolov escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Tiura closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage. Pindolov pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat. Tiura is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Pindolov's half guard. Pindolov on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Pindolov tries to get out of the position. Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Tiura in particular looking to stall. Tiura prevents Pindolov from standing back up.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Tiura is figuring out what he wants to do next. Tiura is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Pindolov doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Tiura. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
That's one minute gone in the round. Tiura controlling the action here. Tiura decides to stand up. Tiura closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.
That's two minutes gone in the round. My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer. Tiura ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. Tiura no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard. Tiura looking to control the pace of the fight rather than finish it. Pindolov won't allow Tiura to sweep him here. Tiura is looking to cinch up a triangle. Pindolov throws the leg off to one side though and gets in tight to Tiura's body to avoid the submission. Tiura has instead reached around Pindolov's neck and now has a guillotine! Oh, this is biiiig trouble! Tiura arches his back and squeezes and forces the tap from his hapless opponent.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:56 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Guillotine). Takashi Tiura!
