Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Gayle Foster!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Antonio Rivera!
The judges for this bout are Emerson Jorge, Thiago Cunha and Seu Braga.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Rivera gets in close and instigates a clinch.
Rivera taking a breather.
Foster wants to break free. God knows he wants to breaaaak freeee.
Foster using the Thai clinch to land knees to the body.
Foster tries to pull guard but Rivera holds him up against the cage and eventually Foster drops back down to his feet.
Foster prevents the takedown attempt.
Foster drops to a knee looking for a takedown but Rivera gets the underhooks and prevents it.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Rivera prevents a body shot from Foster.

It looks like Gayle Foster has been cut.

Rivera breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Rivera shoots in for a takedown but Foster shows good takedown defense.
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Rivera.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet.

Foster is trying to buck Rivera off.
Rivera lands a knee to the body and follows it up with some ground and pound to the head. That will wear Foster down.
Rivera looking to control but instead Foster has slipped a leg in, to regain half guard.
Foster is trying to defend against the ground and pound but Rivera scores with a couple of nice shots.
Rivera is stalling here. Foster is in no mood to hang around though. He's locked up a kimura from the bottom! Rivera seems to be keeping calm but he's forced to roll out of the hold and Foster has ended up in side control on the top. Nice work.
Rivera tries to slip a leg under to move to half guard but Foster presses down on the leg and jumps into full mount!

That was a close round but I would say that Gayle Foster will probably get the nod.

Foster tries for a takedown but Rivera sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.
Foster shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Rivera defends it nicely.

Foster has his foot on Rivera's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Rivera works his way back into a safe position though.

Rivera stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Foster swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Foster wants to stand up but Rivera is controlling him.

Foster is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.

Foster is trying to break the clinch but Rivera is controlling him.

Antonio Rivera showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

Foster shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Rivera as he jumps to the side.
Foster really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

Rivera pushes Foster off looking to stand but Foster dives back in and keeps control.
Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Foster in particular looking to stall.
Rivera is trying to maintain the position but Foster is very close to passing his half guard.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.

Foster gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Rivera to score an easy takedown into full guard.

Rivera decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow.

Rivera throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Foster was covering up waiting for the punch and Rivera finishes the takedown easily into guard.

Rivera thows a huge punch but Foster dodges it nicely.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Rivera is looking to advance position but Foster won't allow it.
Foster wants to improve his position but Rivera is controlling well.

Well Rivera has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
