Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between John Connor (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Colin Tribeca (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Tribeca has chosen Power as his entrance music. We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the heavyweight championship of the world! Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, John Connor! And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Colin Tribeca! The judges for this bout are Chris Dean, Winston Howard and Ron Honeybunn.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Tribeca misses with a low kick as Connor jumps back. Connor misses with a looping right. A little jabbing left from Tribeca on the counter but it doesn't find it's target. Tribeca scores with a sloppy punch to the body. Not much technique there but it did the business. Tribeca stuns Connor with a nice body shot, before stepping back out of range. Connor throws a body punch but Tribeca moves out of range. John Connor seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Tribeca motions for Connor to come forward. Tribeca throws a leg kick but it misses it's target. Connor takes one to the chin there. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Connor looks to score with a jab to the body but Tribeca is just out of range. Connor throws out a token jab with nothing on it.
That's one minute gone in the round. No luck with that takedown attempt from Connor. Connor backing away here, and Tribeca unleashes a leg kick that just misses. Tribeca moves away from the strike by Connor. Tribeca follows through with a counter body kick but it doesn't land. Connor fails with a takedown attempt. Connor moves forwards but Tribeca connects with a nice, crisp jab. Connor misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Tribeca.

That's two minutes gone in the round. Connor swings away with a body shot that misses
and Tribeca counters with a left to the body. Connor throws a body punch but Tribeca moves out of range. Tribeca now looks to counter with a shot at the body. Connor throws a jab but it's blocked by Tribeca. Connor throws out a loose jab but Tribeca uses good head movement to avoid it. Connor checks a leg kick nicely. Connor avoids a kick to the body.
A cross from Tribeca lands. Connor could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Connor closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Tribeca did well to prevent Connor getting side control. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Tribeca blocking the ground and pound attempt from Connor. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

and Tribeca counters with a three punch combo that has Connor backing up. Connor nods at Tribeca to acknowledge the strikes. Connor throws a body shot but no joy. Connor swings widly with a right hand
and Tribeca counters with a stiff right hand. Tribeca throws a left and a right that both miss
and Connor counters with a shoot takedown. Tribeca fights it but they end up in guard. Connor is stalling in the full guard. Connor has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission. Connor pushing down on Tribeca's thigh, trying to pass to half guard. He's managed it... Nice work. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Connor works his way into side control. Connor is trying to get an arm triangle but Tribeca is defending well.

The referee tells the fighters to keep busy. Connor gets to mount! Tribeca was on the offensive and wasn't defending properly. Connor looking to finish with strikes here!

That's two minutes gone in the round. Tribeca is wriggling around trying to escape.
Connor thowing shots but they're missing. Tribeca blocking the ground and pound. Connor throws some wild stikes that Tribeca manages to avoid easily.
Connor sends his fist crashing into the mat - the crowd let out a collective ooooooh. Let's hope he's not broken it! Connor misses with a head shot. Connor is thinking about an arm triangle here, looking to tighten it up before moving to side control. Tribeca can see it coming though and defends well with a couple of strikes to the head and some good arm positioning.

Connor swings widly with a right hand
and Tribeca counters with a nice uppercut. Connor darts in looking for a takedown but Tribeca gets double underhooks and turns Connor into the cage. A looping hook to the body misses from Connor. Tribeca does a little dance to reset his feet. Connor swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Tribeca looks like he wants to counter punch here. Tribeca connects with a jab. Tribeca scores with a sloppy right hand. Connor should have avoided that one. Connor is looking to wear down Tribeca with body shots, infact he's throwing more body shots than head shots at the moment. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Connor misses with a takedown and Tribeca counters with a lovely shot to the body. Connor looks to score with a jab to the body but Tribeca is just out of range.
That's one minute gone in the round. Tribeca ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face. Connor avoids a low kick by using good footwork. Connor looks to land a left hand but Tribeca moved out of range nicely. And an attempted straight right on the counter from Tribeca! But no joy. Connor misses with a hook
and Tribeca counters nicely by changing levels and landing a hook to the body. Connor swings away with a body shot that misses
and Tribeca counters with a three punch combo that has Connor backing up. Connor nods at Tribeca to acknowledge the strikes. A combination from Tribeca does no damage. Connor drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard. Connor thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Connor in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time. Connor trying to control but Tribeca is working from the bottom. Connor throwing strikes from guard but Tribeca blocks nicely. Connor with a flurry of punches that miss. Connor throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent. Tribeca really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Connor. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Connor passes Tribeca's left leg - he's now in half guard. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Connor is looking to pass the guard... He's managed it - he's now in full mount! Connor controlling from the full mount. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
A close third round but Colin Tribeca just about did enough to take it. The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!
Jab from Tribeca. Connor shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Tribeca's guard. Connor slips nicely into half guard. John Connor overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. Tribeca is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though. Connor seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Tribeca does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Connor content to control rather than advance. Tribeca keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound.
That's one minute gone in the round. Connor trying to control the pace. Connor is looking to take a break and control but Tribeca is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. Connor not throwing his punches with enough precision this time. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Tribeca wants to improve his position but Connor is controlling well.

That's two minutes gone in the round. Tribeca tries to get back to half guard but can't. Connor jumps to side control looking for an arm triangle but Tribeca manages to avoid the submission attempt. Tribeca dodges the ground and pound from Connor. Tribeca managing to avoid any damage from the strikes thrown by Connor.
Connor tries for a kimura but Tribeca is defending well. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Connor moves into full mount! And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
John Connor had his way with Colin Tribeca in that round. That's time! Connor's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight. This is the final round!
Connor misses with a wild body shot. Tribeca is trying to counter with his kicks. Colin Tribeca has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Tribeca tries to work over Connor's front leg with a kick but Connor checks it. Tribeca swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Connor feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position. Connor pushes down on Tribeca's leg and manages to get into half guard. Connor trying to control the pace. Connor is looking for the choke from the back position but Tribeca is controlling his hands well. Connor is working hard for the rear naked choke here.

Tribeca defends a rear naked choke attempt by controlling one of Connor's arms. Connor is staying calm and holding on to the back position, whilst working on a rear naked choke. Tribeca is defending well though. Connor let's go of the attempt for now. Connor is working hard for the rear naked choke here.
