Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Jesse Mathis (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Kacper Drygajlo (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Jesse Mathis has the edge in experience - let's see if he can make that count tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Jesse Mathis! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Kacper Drygajlo! The judges for this bout are Kenichi Hosakawa, Yukihiro Yamamoto and Yuuki Gou.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Drygajlo closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Mathis to the mat! Mathis manages to get full guard. Drygajlo throws an elbow that misses. Mathis uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Drygajlo's guard. Nice move by Mathis! Drygajlo is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent. Mathis drops back looking for a leg! Drygajlo is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Drygajlo manages to kick Mathis off! Mathis jumps back into Drygajlo's guard. Mathis stands up from Drygajlo's guard - Mathis perhaps looking for a knockout. Drygajlo scores with a reasonable looking shot to the body. Mathis doesn't seem bothered though. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Drygajlo throws a lazy body kick and Mathis counters with a nice low kick that buckles Drygajlo's knee momentarily. Mathis really is a fat lump.
That's one minute gone in the round. Drygajlo changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Mathis looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Mathis is positioning himself to get back to half guard. Drygajlo taking a break here but Mathis is having none of it and regains half guard. Drygajlo seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Mathis does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back. Mathis avoiding damage under a succession of punches from Drygajlo. Mathis might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground. Drygajlo trying to control the action but Mathis is working from the bottom.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Drygajlo is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two. Drygajlo is in a good position here but he's just trying to control... And he's not even managing to do that successfully. Drygajlo is stalling here. Mathis is in no mood to hang around though. He's locked up a kimura from the bottom! Drygajlo seems to be keeping calm but he's forced to roll out of the hold and Mathis has ended up in side control on the top. Nice work. Drygajlo is looking for a sweep. Mathis thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead. Mathis tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Mathis has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought! We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Drygajlo can do anything to dispel that myth. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Drygajlo tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Mathis wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Mathis has hold of Drygajlo's arm here. He's working for an Americana. It looks like he might have it! Drygajlo tries to escape but he's just digging himself in deeper - Mathis cranks the arm and Drygajlo screams in pain! The ref makes a decision and ends the fight before the tap - no complains from Drygajlo, who is just happy to have his arm attached to his body.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:21 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Americana). Jesse Mathis!
