Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Bastyn Dall (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Cullen Castrello (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Dall comes into the arena with Beast blaring out of the sound system. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 10 - 7 - 0, fighting out of New York, Bastyn Dall!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 12 - 4 - 0, fighting out of New York, Cullen Castrello!
The judges for this bout are Steve Montenegro, Reed Andrews and Columbo Gatti.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Dall has his head snapped back a nice jab. A little nod from Dall there as he acknowledges the shot.
Dall throws a quick head kick that skims the top of Castrello's head.
We've been hearing reports that Dall has been drilling takedowns in recent sessions so let's see if that has an impact on the result of this fight.
Castrello pivots as if he's going to throw a leg kick but stops half way.
Castrello just misses with a punch to the body.
Dall throws the kick towards the body but Castrello avoids it.
Castrello dips down and scores with a jab to the body.
Castrello is looking to clinch but Dall is avoiding it.
Dall throws a push kick but Castrello slaps the foot to one side.
Castrello moves out of range of the body kick from Dall.

Dall closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.
Castrello is looking to get back to his feet here but Dall is keeping cool and he's managed to take Castrello's back.

Dall tries to keep at a distance but Castrello has taken the fight into the clinch.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Castrello pushes off an throws an elbow but Dall leans to the side and avoids it. We're back to clinching against the cage.

Castrello is trying to slow down the pace of the fight but Dall is keeping busy.
Dall takes a shot to the head.
Castrello lands a right hand.

Dall turns his hips and lands a very nice judo throw into side control!

Dall tries for a kimura but Castrello is defending well.
Castrello is putting a lot of effort into getting back to his feet here.

Dall looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

That's time! Dall's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight. So, we enter the final round. Let's see if either fighter can bring us a finish, or whether we're going to the judges scorecards.

Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

A head kick lands from Castrello that sends Dall to the canvas. Dall tries to scramble back to his feet but Castrello brings him back down into side control.

Oh Dall is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!!
Castrello tries to stand but Dall is controlling his head.
Dall tries to get back to half guard but can't.
Castrello wants to stand but Dall has his arm trapped.
Dall seems to have got his legs back now.
Castrello is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
Dall is looking to regain half guard here but Castrello keeps moving and retains side control.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Castrello wants to stand but Dall has his arm trapped.
Dall tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Castrello wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.
Castrello tries to stand but Dall is controlling his head.
Castrello wants to stand but Dall has him controlled and pulls him back into his guard.
My spies in The Beast inform me that Castrello has been getting involved in the gym's BJJ sparring sessions. Let's see whether that pays dividends!

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.

Cullen Castrello seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Cullen Castrello comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I think Castrello has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
