Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Thiago Meida (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Brandon Alves (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Brandon Alves will no doubt be trying to keep this one on the feet, where he has a distinct advantage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Thiago Meida! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Brandon Alves! The judges for this bout are Matheus Silva, Edson Gomes and Leandro Rodrigues.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Meida shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Alves but Alves pushes him off and we're back to square one. Alves scores with a head kick.
Alves throws a right hand that Meida ducks under and follows up with a left that Meida also avoids with ease. Alves has been spending a lot of time sparring his boxing in the run up to the fight, trying to sharpen up those hands and look for a knockout. Meida feints and as Alves raises his hands in defense, Meida changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard. Meida passes easily into side control. Nice work. Meida is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Alves has escaped the position, nice work there. Meida is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Alves is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now. Alves struggling a bit here.
That's one minute gone in the round. Meida working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it. Alves really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Meida. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Meida thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead. Meida is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Alves has escaped the position, nice work there. Meida wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Alves, who protects the arm well.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Meida is in a dominant position here, looking for a kimura. Alves looks calm but he's in trouble here. Meida gets his leg over his opponent's head and yanks on the arm. Alves is tapping like a morse code operator on the titanic! SOS! SOS! Meida lets go of the hold and Alves can pop his arm back in it's socket.
