Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Mepral Concor (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jim Lahey (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Mepral Concor could well score a knockout today. He has the power to get to Jim Lahey's chin.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 5 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Mepral Concor!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 5 - 12 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Jim Lahey!
The judges for this bout are Yves DeLean, Dillan Fox and William Peck.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Lahey displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Concor.
Lahey unleashes a big counter combination but Concor bobs and weaves and avoids any damage.
Lahey pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Lahey throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Concor.
Concor is looking to counter with a shot to the body.
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Concor.
Concor shoots in for a takedown but Lahey shows good takedown defense.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Mepral Concor. That's going to take a lot out of him.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Concor fails with the takedown.
Lahey unleashes a big counter combination but Concor bobs and weaves and avoids any damage.
Lahey throws a head kick but Concor moves out of range.

Lahey throws a body punch but Concor moves out of range.
Concor is looking to counter with a shot to the body.
Concor tries for a takedown but Lahey circles away easily
and Lahey counters with a lovely straight right hand!
Concor shoots in looking for a takedown. Lahey tries to sprawl out of it but Concor keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Lahey manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
No luck with that takedown attempt from Concor.
Concor throws a body punch but Lahey moves out of range.
Lahey throws a lazy right hand but Concor sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.
Concor is looking to counter with a shot to the body.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Lahey fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Concor misses with a takedown
and Concor takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.
Concor showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Lahey.
Concor dives in for a single leg takedown but Lahey sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage.
Lahey throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Concor fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Lahey avoids it really well and circles away.
Concor is breathing heavily.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Lahey leaves Concor with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
A countering left hand to the body from Lahey misses.
Concor showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Lahey.
Concor goes for a double leg but Lahey avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Lahey continues to drive forward.
Lahey is clearly looking to counter with head kicks.

Lahey rushes Concor and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.
Concor is looking to control Lahey's arms but Lahey gets an underhook and turns him. Now Concor has his back to the cage.
Lahey is trying to break free.

That's four minutes gone in the round.

Concor gets a nice trip takedown into half guard.
Lahey wants to get back to full guard.
Concor tries to pass the half guard into mount. Lahey knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt.
Lahey is trying to stand back up but Concor is controlling him
Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Concor in particular looking to stall.
Concor working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Concor thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Lahey's head.

Concor maintaining the dominant position here and is working for a kimura. He's locked it up! Lahey could be in real trouble here! He's trying to wriggle out but Concor has cracked it and Lahey is screaming in pain - he's tapped out! Great finish by Concor!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:58 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Kimura). Mepral Concor!
A pretty intense looking Mepral Concor took the opportunity post-fight to ask for a shot at the title.
Jim Lahey spoke after the fight, saying 'Jim Lahey for supervisor of the year'.
