Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Takashi Twister (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Andy Rodgers (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). I can't wait for this one - let's get the fighter introductions out of the way and get this one started!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Takashi Twister! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
10 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Andy Rodgers! The judges for this bout are Ben Watson, Ron Honeybunn and Bruno Hogan.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Rodgers checks a low kick. Bone on bone - not my idea of a good time. Twister takes a big uppercut there. He seems a bit wobbly but no, he's OK.
Rodgers lands a really nice looking cross but Twister seems unphased.
Rodgers cracks Twister with a good shot that sees him stumbling back into the cage. Rodgers swinging wildly here.
Twister shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it. Twister fails with a takedown attempt. Rodgers keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Takashi Twister. That's going to take a lot out of him. Good standup being displayed there by Rodgers as he connects with a hook. Rodgers is using his reach advantage to land shots from outside his opponent's range. Twister is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Rodgers's half guard. Rodgers really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Twister. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Rodgers is looking to improve his position.
Twister definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight. Twister throwing shots but Rodgers is blocking nicely.

Rodgers is not content to let Twister control the position. Twister is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Rodgers sees it coming and defends easily. Twister stops Rodgers from getting back to his feet.

That's two minutes gone in the round. There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action. Twister wants to pass to mount but Rodgers is defending the position. Twister is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Rodgers defends it well. Twister is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.
Twister not landing any meaningful shots this time. Twister seems to be working for a kimura but Rodgers defends the submission attempt.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Twister is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Rodgers is just riding it out for now. Twister eventually gives up the hold. Twister is pressing down on Rodgers's thigh, looking to free his foot. Rodgers is holding on for now. Rodgers pushes Twister off looking to stand but Twister dives back in and keeps control.
Twister is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Rodgers defends it well. Twister seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Rodgers does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action. Rodgers pushes Twister off but Twister dives into side control.
Twister is looking to take a break and control but Rodgers is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. Twister tries to score with some ground and pound. Rodgers controls his posture well this time though and the shots don't do any damage. Twister tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though. Twister tries to advance position but instead Rodgers slips a leg back in to half guard. Rodgers is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Twister missing with some ground and pound from the half guard. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close round but I would say that Takashi Twister will probably get the nod. Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin!
Rodgers clinches. Rodgers lands with a good tight uppercut to the head. Rodgers lands with a short head shot on the inside. Twister tries to break the clinch but Rodgers is controlling the position. Rodgers lands a body punch - he's looking to wear down Twister. Rodgers works for underhooks and lands a body shot in the process.
Rodgers's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does. Rodgers drives through and clinches with Twister against the cage.
Rodgers scores with an uppercut up the middle. Twister tries to pull guard but Rodgers forces him back to his feet, against the cage. A frustrated look appears on Twister's face as he tries to break the clinch. Twister tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Rodgers smiles and moves away.
Twister throws a body kick that misses and Rodgers counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw. Twister takes a jab right on the nose. That must have hurt but he shrugs his shoulders and looks to return the favor. Rodgers has been working on his striking defense in training and it's paying off as Twister is landing a low percentage of strikes. Twister moves to clinch but Rodgers breaks away and Twister takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Rodgers closes the distance and clinches. Rodgers lands on the inside with an uppercut. Twister is looking to take this one to the mat. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Takashi Twister. That's going to take a lot out of him. Rodgers lands a shot to the body. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
That's one minute gone in the round. Rodgers softening up his opponent with strikes, against the cage. Rodgers lands with a good tight uppercut to the head. Rodgers lands a nice elbow.
It looks like Takashi Twister has been cut. Rodgers throws a hook to the body. More of an arm punch but it's all scoring with the judges. Rodgers lands a body punch. Rodgers breaks the clinch.
Rodgers lands three nice shots there - that looked like it hurt!
Rodgers throws a leg kick which misses Twister's front leg but catches the back leg as Twister tries to avoid it. Twister with a poor takedown and Rodgers counters with a quick right hand to the jaw. Twister moves forwards but Rodgers connects with a nice, crisp jab. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Rodgers fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Twister appears to be looking for a counter takedown. Rodgers connects nicely with a jab. Noted by the judges no doubt. Twister closes the distance and clinches up with Rodgers, looking for a takedown. Twister pushes Rodgers against the cage but Rodgers circles to the side and manages to break the clinch. Takashi Twister seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Rodgers gets to the clinch - let's see what his plan is here. A left hand lands to the body for Rodgers.

Twister is rocked! Rodgers lands a hook that snaps the head of Twister backwards. Oh Twister is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!

Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Rodgers walks away with a smile on his face. Twister gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head. Twister shoots in for a takedown but Rodgers shows good takedown defense. Twister walks into a straight right hand from Rodgers. Rodgers moves into the clinch. An uppercut to the body lands inside from Rodgers. Rodgers lands a left hand.
Rodgers throws a hook to the body. More of an arm punch but it's all scoring with the judges. Rodgers lands a left hand that snaps the head of Twister backwards. Rodgers lands a shoulder strike that jolts his opponent's head backwards. A short right from Rodgers. Rodgers's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does. That's three minutes gone in the round. Rodgers cracks Twister with a good shot that sees him stumbling back into the cage. Rodgers lands a big head kick that sends Twister tumbling to the mat! Rodgers takes a step backwards and waves Twister back to his feet - he wants the finish! Rodgers works his jab well there, keeping his opponent at a distance. Twister dodges the punch combination from Rodgers.
Rodgers comes forward and lands a shot to the body, then darts back out of range. Rodgers scores with a shot to the body.
Andy Rodgers is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Rodgers thumps Twister with a low kick. Rodgers lands with an overhand left. Decent striking displayed by Rodgers there. Rodgers throws a couple of head shots and lands with the final one - a decent hook, which struck Twister on the side of the head. Rodgers has used his reach advantage pretty well so far tonight. Twister shoots in but doesn't get the takedown and Rodgers counters with a series of strikes. Twister will be more careful next time no doubt. Andy Rodgers seems to be getting the better of the standup.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Nice straight punches there by Rodgers. You know Roy Jones Jr respects the hands of Rodgers. Rodgers gets a clinch. Rodgers lands a shoulder strike that jolts his opponent's head backwards. A short body shot lands from Rodgers as the two fighters clinch.
Rodgers lands with a short head shot on the inside. Rodgers is pressed up against the cage. Twister has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Rodgers down to the mat. Rodgers avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance. Twister closes the distance but Rodgers moves to the side and Rodgers counters with an outside leg kick.
Rodgers clinches up against the cage. Twister seems to have got his legs back now. Rodgers lands a nice uppercut. Rodgers presses Twister against the cage and delivers a mid-strength body shot. Rodgers lands a right hand that snaps the head of Twister backwards. Twister has had enough of the clinch and is looking to separate. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Twister fails to pull the fight into his guard.

Andy Rodgers showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. The cut man is working on Takashi Twister's cut. Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin! This is the final round!

Rodgers tries a knee to the head but Twister blocks it.
Twister takes a shot to the head. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Rodgers escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.

That's one minute gone in the round. Rodgers lands a left hand that snaps the head of Twister backwards. Rodgers throws a blind hook that connects with the side of Twisters head. Rodgers lands an uppercut in the clinch that drops Twister to his knees! Rodgers keeps firing more shots against his stricken opponent and the referee jumps in to save him!
