Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the light heavyweight championship of the world! Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
3 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Ryosuke Sato! And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
4 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Dwayne James! The judges for this bout are Steve Montenegro, Reed Andrews and Russell Pearce.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! James displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Sato throws out the jab. It seemed like James was going to counter with the hook but didn't fully commit to it. Sato looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight. Sato throws out a loose jab but James uses good head movement to avoid it. James misses with a straight right. James swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target. Sato jabs James to the body, keeping him at a distance. Sato clinches up with James and pushes him back against the cage. James misses with a punch on the inside.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. James lands a left hand.

That's one minute gone in the round. With the fighters clinched against the cage, James creates a bit of distance for himself and scores with a nice uppercut. James breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat. Sato tries to clinch up. Sato looks to land a combination but James avoids it well. James tries to counter by closing the distance. Sato lands a left and a right that send James crashing to the mat, dazed. Sato thinks about following him to the mat but decides to wave him back up to his feet!
It looks like Dwayne James has been cut. Sato tries to clinch up. A little jabbing left from James on the counter but it doesn't find it's target. Sato tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but James paws at him with a jab and circles away. Sato clinches up against the cage. This has been an exciting period of action! Still in the clinch, James scores with a nice short uppercut. James cracks Sato with a nice body shot. Sato scores with a nice hook to the head. James misses with a punch on the inside.

Ryosuke Sato dominated that round. The cut man is working on Dwayne James's cut. Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin!
Sato tries to grapple but his opponent circles and James makes him pay by landing a nice hook to the body before moving out of range. Sato swings and misses with a hook to the body.

Sato swings and misses with a shot to the body and James counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Sato misses with a body shot.

James tries to counter with a clinch but Sato shakes him off and moves away. James walks straight into a jab right on the nose. That one stung - he's blinking and trying to clear his head. Sato plants his feet and throws a 3 punch combo. Miss, miss, boom! The third punch, a big right hook, connects right on the temple and drops James to the mat, unconscious! This fight is all over! James just couldn't keep out of the way of the whole flurry of punches!

Ryosuke Sato spent the whole post fight interview bigging himself up. It didn't go down that well with the fans after a while as they thought it was a bit arrogant.
