6 - 10 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Carl Grimes! The judges for this bout are Jonathan Paton, Franklyn Lucas and Alyssa Summers.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Grimes misses with a takedown attempt - Alexandrov sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses. Alexandrov closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Grimes did well to prevent Alexandrov getting side control. Grimes is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Alexandrov pulls his head out easily. Grimes is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two. Alexandrov trying to pass the guard but Grimes defending well. Alexandrov working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Grimes looking for submissions from an awkward position here. Alexandrov winds up and cracks Grimes with a swinging punch to the side of the head. Alexandrov lands strikes from half guard. Alexandrov looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Grimes with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position. Alexandrov drops an elbow to the side of Grimes's head.

The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now. Grimes is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Alexandrov pulls his head out easily. Grimes looking for submissions off his back. Alexandrov lands with an elbow from half guard - that looked like it hurt.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Alexandrov seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Grimes does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back. Grimes seems to have recovered his senses. Grimes looking for submissions from an awkward position here. Grimes tries to roll over but Alexandrov keeps him under control. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Alexandrov slips a nice elbow through Grimes's hands, connecting with Grimes's forehead. Both fighters have adopted an aggressive gameplan on the ground! Alexandrov content to sit in half guard and control for a moment. Alexandrov is keeping good posture, landing some ground and pound. Grimes looking to work for a kimura from the bottom. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Alexandrov stopping the sweep attempt from Grimes. Alexandrov lands a couple of digs. Grimes has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Alexandrov can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself. Grimes is active off his back here, looking for submissions.

Alexandrov gets to his feet and stands over Grimes, holding his ankles. He dives in with a big left hand that connects! Grimes felt that one! Alexandrov unloads more punches and elbows and this one is over! The ref has dived in to save Grimes from any more punishment!
