The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Rapp throws a one two combo.
It looks like Mikonosuke Uyenishi has been cut. Nice shot by Rapp. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Uyenishi closes this distance looking for a takedown but Rapp circles away. Rapp drops Uyenishi with a beautiful combination! Uyenishi stares up at his opponent, who ushers him back to his feet - Rapp is looking for the KO! Uyenishi looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Rapp is fending him off so far but Uyenishi persists. Nope, Rapp circles away and we're back to standing.
That's one minute gone in the round. Rapp fails with an attempt to clinch.
Uyenishi shoots in and drives through. Rapp sprawls well. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Mikonosuke Uyenishi. That's going to take a lot out of him. Rapp looks to score with a combo but nothing lands. Rapp lands a two punch combo.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Oooh a lovely combination from Rapp sends Uyenishi down but not out. Rapp dives into side control looking to finish. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Uyenishi is positioning himself to get back to half guard. Uyenishi is working hard here to advance position.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Rapp tries to stand but Uyenishi is controlling his head. Uyenishi tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Rapp wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.
Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up. Rapp dips down and scores with a jab to the body.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Uyenishi shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Rapp as he jumps to the side. Nice sprawl there from Rapp as Uyenishi shoots in. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Rapp is looking to clinch. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Xavier Rapp dominated that round. The cut man is working on Mikonosuke Uyenishi's cut. That's time! Uyenishi's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.
Uyenishi fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt. Rapp moves in looking to clinch but Uyenishi pushes him off. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Uyenishi takes a nice looking leg kick right on the meat of his thigh there.
That's one minute gone in the round. Rapp lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Uyenishi circles away quickly and effectively. A cross from Rapp lands. Rapp scores with a reasonable looking shot to the body. Uyenishi doesn't seem bothered though. Rapp throws a head kick that looked like it stung.
That's two minutes gone in the round. This has been an exciting period of action! A combination from Rapp does no damage. Rapp wants to clinch. Uyenishi shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Rapp as he jumps to the side. Xavier Rapp seems to be getting the better of the standup.
That's three minutes gone in the round. A right-left combo lands from Rapp.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Rapp stuffs the takedown attempt from Uyenishi. Uyenishi gets slowly back to his feet. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Mikonosuke Uyenishi. That's going to take a lot out of him. Uyenishi shoots in but no luck this time. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Xavier Rapp showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. The cut man is working on Mikonosuke Uyenishi's cut. Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin! The crowd applaud as we get ready to start the final round!
Rapp throws a right hand that Uyenishi ducks under and follows up with a left that Uyenishi also avoids with ease. Rapp rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Uyenishi moves out of range and avoids them all easily. Rapp scores with a slapping inside leg kick. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. The fight stays on the outside here - Rapp looks like he's thinking about clinching though. Both fighters are looking to counter, which isn't making for the most exciting fight in the world.
That's one minute gone in the round. Uyenishi shoots in for a takedown but Rapp shows good takedown defense. Rapp stuffs the takedown. Uyenishi fails with the takedown. Xavier Rapp is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Mikonosuke Uyenishi. That's going to take a lot out of him.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena. Uyenishi avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Rapp fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Rapp tries to clinch but Uyenishi moves out of range. Uyenishi shoots in looking for a takedown. Rapp tries to sprawl out of it but Uyenishi keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Rapp manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing. Rapp throws a nice outside leg kick.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Rapp tries to clinch up. Rapp connects with a single shot there.
And that's the end of the fight! Xavier Rapp comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. Well Rapp has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
