Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Kim Chow!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 5 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Vic Chai Big Chop!
The judges for this bout are Yasuomi Hirokawa, Shigeki Fujiwara and Kenichi Hosakawa.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Chow closes the distance and pushes Big Chop back into the cage.

Chow's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.

Chow lands a hook to the body. It's hard to tell if that hurt Big Chop or not.

Chow has double underhooks and is working for a body lock takedown. He's got it. The fighters land in half guard but Big Chop regains guard immediately.
Chow controls the pace of the fight for a moment.

Big Chop is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Chow is aware though and is defending well.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.

Chow has a closed guard, preventing anything of note from happening. Perhaps he's looking to stall.
Chow has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.
We've been informed that Big Chop has been working hard on his conditioning in the buildup to the fight.

Chow wants to sweep here but Big Chop controlling him for the moment.
Chow lands a beautiful sweep and he's now moved into his opponent's guard.

Chow controls the pace of the fight for a moment.

Big Chop had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Chow defends it easily.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Chow is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.

Chow sizes up Big Chop with a pawing jab and scores with a straight right down the middle.
Chow is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Big Chop can do to turn this around?

Chow shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Big Chop manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.

Chow tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Chow has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!

Chow is staying tight to Big Chop's torso, preventing him from escaping.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Big Chop is looking to regain half guard here but Chow keeps moving and retains side control.
Big Chop is trying to get back to half guard. He's pushing on Chow's leg. He's managed it. Nice work.
Chow content to sit in half guard and control for a moment.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

Big Chop is looking to improve his position but Chow isn't that keen on the idea.
Big Chop is trying to escape the mount but Chow keeps good control and instead manages to take Big Chop's back.
What can Big Chop do to escape this position? He's going to have to figure it out pretty quick if he wants to stay in the fight!

Chow seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Big Chop for as long as he can get away with.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
Chow is hanging on to Big Chop's back as he tries to escape.
Chow controls the action.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Big Chop is in a world of trouble here. He's outmatched on the ground here and he'd better get Chow off his back sharpish unless he wants to be submitted.
Chow continues to hold on tight.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Kim Chow dominated that second round.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. So, we enter the final round. Let's see if either fighter can bring us a finish, or whether we're going to the judges scorecards.

A right handed body shot lands from Chow.
Good body shot from Chow.
Chow digs a right hand underneath Big Chop's ribcage. Big Chop let out a lung full of air as it connected.
Big Chop tries for a takedown. No joy.
A right hook to the body lands for Chow.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Nice body punch from Chow - that landed with a thud.
Chow pushes Big Chop back against the cage and unloads with a body punch.
Chow lands an elbow just above Big Chop 's eye.

Chow prevents a takedown attempt there.

Chow breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Big Chop is trying hard to land a takedown here. Chow sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.
Kim Chow has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Vic Chai Big Chop.

Chow moves into the clinch.

Chow jumps guard and drags Big Chop to the mat. He's obviously going to be looking for submissions off his back.
Big Chop must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.
Chow pulls Big Chop in close to his closed guard and prevents Big Chop from doing any damage or advancing position.

Chow's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.

Chow lands with a two punch combination before moving back out of range.

Chow moves into the clinch.
Chow stops a takedown attempt from Big Chop.
Chow pushes Big Chop back against the cage and unloads with a body punch.
Big Chop is working for a takedown up against the cage. He can't get it on this occasion though.
Big Chop is looking for a takedown up against the cage. Chow gets underhooks though and prevents the takedown attempt.

Big Chop takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.
Chow is pressed up against the cage. Big Chop has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Chow down to the mat. Chow avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance.

Big Chop gets tackled into the cage by Chow. Chow maintains the clinch.
A left hand lands to the body for Chow.
Chow works for underhooks and lands a body shot in the process.

Chow turns his back and goes for a hip toss. It's a bit messy but it gets the job done and Chow manages to end up in side control.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Chow just content to control the position.
Kim Chow is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Vic Chai Big Chop has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!

And that's the end of the fight!
Kim Chow showed his dominance in that final round.
Well Chow has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
