The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Silva decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.
Caldwell works his way to full guard. Good work.
Caldwell is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.
Caldwell prevents Silva from improving his position.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Caldwell is tying to control. Silva wants to improve his position but can't escape this time.
Caldwell seems to be looking for submissions.
Caldwell is looking to pass the guard... He's managed it - he's now in full mount!
Caldwell lands a heavy elbow.
Caldwell looking to secure an arm triangle but Silva defends it well.
Silva keeping his composure momentarily, calmly looking to get back to half guard.
Caldwell jumps to side control looking for an arm triangle but Silva manages to avoid the submission attempt.

Silva tries to buck Caldwell off but Caldwell is having none of it.
Caldwell tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though.
Caldwell works a knee to the body and follows up with a nice elbow to the head.
Silva knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Caldwell on the ground.
Caldwell looks gassed!
Silva tries to bench press Caldwell off him but Caldwell keeps the position.
Silva tries to strike from the bottom but misses.
Caldwell tries to move to mount but Silva blocks the move with his legs.
Silva is looking to regain half guard here but Caldwell keeps moving and retains side control.
Caldwell moves into full mount!

Caldwell is thinking about an arm triangle here, looking to tighten it up before moving to side control. Silva can see it coming though and defends well with a couple of strikes to the head and some good arm positioning.
Silva keeping his composure momentarily, calmly looking to get back to half guard.
Caldwell is working to isolate an arm here. It's a telegraphed submission attempt but he's gone for it anyway - and he's got it! Caldwell extends the arm and Silva is forced to tap!
