Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Scott Chen (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and James Tye (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Scott Chen! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, James Tye! The judges for this bout are Alec Ball, Yves DeLean and Steve Smith.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Chen gets tackled into the cage by Tye. Tye maintains the clinch. Tye escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Tye closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth. We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake. Tye stands up and beckons Chen to his feet. Tye drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Chen sneaks out the side door and pushes Tye away - he's back to his feet. The crowd show their appreciation for the escape. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Tye pushes Chen up against the cage in a clinch. Tye has Chen pressed up against the cage. He's trying to work for a single leg takedown. Tye pulls back from the cage and twists to the side, sending Chen tumbling to the mat - Tye dives into Chen's guard. Tye is standing up over Chen. Chen looks to escape but Tye dives into side control.
That's one minute gone in the round. Chen is trying to escape the position but Tye is controlling the position. Tye throwing shots but missing, from side control. Tye controlling the position. Tye stands up and beckons Chen to his feet. Tye moves into the clinch. A head punch on the inside from Chen fails to land.
That's two minutes gone in the round. A frustrated look appears on Chen's face as he tries to break the clinch. Tye lands a takedown into guard.
Chen pushes Tye off and scrambles back to his feet.
Tye closes the distance and pushes Chen back into the cage. Chen really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Tye has Chen pressed up against the cage. Chen makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Chen. Tye postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect. Tye's corner is telling him to maintain position. Tye gets to his feet. Chen looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son! Chen throws a body shot but no joy. The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily. Tye throws a shot to the body.
Tye has taken the fight to the clinch.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Chen is pushing Tye up against the cage, for a bit of lean and pray action. Action being used the in the loosest possible sense of the word. Chen has double underhooks and is working for a body lock takedown. He's got it. The fighters land in half guard but Tye regains guard immediately. Tye kicks Chen off and gets to his feet. Scott Chen is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. Tye closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Tye gets a trip takedown into half guard. Chen kicks Tye off and gets back to his feet. Chen is breathing heavily. Chen pushes Tye up against the cage in a clinch. Tye breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.

A close round but James Tye will probably get the nod. The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!

Chen says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Chen keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound.

Scott Chen is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Tye gets a clinch. Tye blocks an uppercut.

Chen gets in close and instigates a clinch. Tye breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat. Tye has Chen up against the cage in a clinch.

Chen gets caught flat footed, as Tye shoots in with a quick takedown into guard. Tye postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect. Chen is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive. James Tye has got the better of the ground game so far. Chen is working hard here to advance position. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so. Tye tightens his grip and picks Chen up, before dumping him to the ground. Chen manages to land in guard. Chen is trying to keep Tye in close.
Tye sitting in guard, not really doing much. Tye has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan. Tye has been the more effective fighter overall so far. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Tye with a flurry of punches that miss. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
James Tye showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. Let's hear some noise people - this is the final round!

Tye throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Chen was covering up waiting for the punch and Tye finishes the takedown easily into guard. Chen utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.
That's one minute gone in the round. Tye wants to control from the top but Chen keeps moving. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Chen tries to land a sweep but no joy. Chen looking to sweep using the butterfly guard but Tye puts pay to that idea as he passes nicely into half guard. Both fighters are breathing heavily. Tye seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense.
That's two minutes gone in the round. My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer. Tye trying to control from Chen's half guard. Chen has other ideas though and has regained full guard. Chen looking to control but Tye passes into half guard.
Chen is looking for a sweep. Tye is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position. Tye sitting and controlling from the half guard.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Tye not throwing his punches with enough precision this time. Chen trying to control but Tye postures up.
Tye escapes and gets back to his feet. Tye clinches up with Chen and pushes him back against the cage. Chen has clasped his hands together around Tye's back... aaand, he's got a takedown into side control. Nicely done. Tye throws his opponent off and manages to get back to his feet! Nicely done! James Tye seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Tye has taken the fight to the clinch.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Tye shoots in and bounces Chen off the cage to secure the takedown into guard. Chen manages to escape and get back to his feet.

Scott Chen has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! James Tye is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight. Tye has managed to clinch.
And that's the end of the fight! James Tye comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. Well Tye has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
