Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Mercy Myers (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and David Hojackin (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of The Island, David Hojackin!
The judges for this bout are Daniel Franklin, Michael Johnstone and Santiago Holmes.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A nice inside leg kick there by Myers. That's going to slow Hojackin down.
Hojackin keeping his hands up high there, blocking the jab from Myers.
Hojackin doesn't succeed with the takedown
and Myers counters with a good low kick that Hojackin was not able to check.
A looping hook to the body misses from Hojackin. Myers does a little dance to reset his feet.
Myers is looking to slow Hojackin down with leg kicks.
Hojackin throws a hook to the side of Myers's head but Myers sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.
A big right from Myers misses.
Nice defenses there by Hojackin.
Hojackin changes levels for a counter takedown but doesn't follow through with his attempt.
Myers ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Hojackin moves away.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Hojackin blocks a punch to the side of the head.

Myers swings away with an uppercut that misses.

The pace really dropping off here, momentarily.
Myers scores with an uppercut up the middle.

Myers can't find room to land a body shot as Hojackin controls the action.

Hojackin jumps into guard, dragging Myers to the mat.
Hojackin is looking to sweep but instead, Myers has passed into half guard.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Hojackin makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Hojackin.
Hojackin manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Myers manages to get himself to full guard.

Hojackin scores with a decent looking elbow strike.
Hojackin wants to pass the guard but Myers is keeping the position.
Myers on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Myers tries to get out of the position.
Hojackin in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time.
Hojackin passes Myers's left leg - he's now in half guard.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Hojackin throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man.
Myers wants to get back to full guard.
Hojackin slips a nice elbow through Myers's hands, connecting with Myers's forehead.
Myers moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard.
Hammerfist, elbow! yells Hojackin's corner. There ya go! There ya go!
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Myers is trying to control the position but Hojackin postures up.
Hojackin advances to half guard.
Myers controlling the leg, holding on to half guard.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Mercy Myers will probably get the nod.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!

Myers throws a punch but it's blocked by Hojackin.

Hojackin wants the takedown. Myers is fighting it off but Hojackin persists and manages to bring the fight to the ground, ending up in Myers's guard against the cage.

A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Hojackin accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

Hojackin throws an elbow that misses. Myers uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Hojackin's guard. Nice move by Myers!

Hojackin is trying to control the position from the bottom.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Myers tries to free his leg and advance position but Hojackin is retaining full guard.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.

Hojackin gets tackled into the cage by Myers. Myers maintains the clinch.
Myers prevents the takedown attempt.
Myers lands with a short shot to the head.

A nice left hand lands by Myers.
Myers definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight.
A head punch blocked on the inside by Hojackin.
Myers tries a body shot but Hojackin blocks it.

Myers is defending well against a takedown attempt.
Myers lands a left hand.
A left hand lands to the body for Myers.
Myers throws a punch but it's blocked by Hojackin.

Myers breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Myers throws an overhand right that lands on Hojackin's shoulder, as Hojackin tries to avoid the shot.
Hojackin feints the counter takedown.
Hojackin misses with a hook. Myers ducked under it nicely.
Horrible takedown attempt by Hojackin or perhaps it was just good defense by Myers, which made it look bad.
Mercy Myers has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of David Hojackin.
Myers throws a lazy right hand but Hojackin sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.
Myers comes forward and lands a shot to the body, then darts back out of range.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action! Let's get this one finished - here comes the final round!


Hojackin takes a kick to the side of the head.
Hojackin ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Myers moves away.
Hojackin drops his hands and takes a jab to the jaw for his troubles.
Myers throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Myers throws a body punch but Hojackin moves out of range.
Myers swings for the body but Hojackin moves out of range.
Hojackin waving his hands out in front of him, looking to distract Myers.
Hojackin takes a solid shot to the body. That one hurt him but he's trying not to show it.
Myers is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Hojackin can do to turn this around?

David Hojackin has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Mercy Myers is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.

Hojackin tries to work over Myers's body with a swooping hook but it only glances the target.

Hojackin takes a hook to the side of the head. I wonder if that's got his ears ringing.

Myers lands a jab to the head.
Myers slips under a jab from Hojackin.
Myers misses with a straight right.

And that's the end of the fight!
Mercy Myers showed his dominance in that final round.
Well I reckon that's a shut out for Myers, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
