Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, in the featherweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
11 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Free Agent Steel Penn! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
10 - 6 - 0, fighting out of London, Domino Kennedy! The judges for this bout are Fedor Mirinova, Konstantin Menshow and Viktor Lagutenko.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Kennedy throws a combination that misses and Steel Penn counters with a nice double leg into half guard. Kennedy is trying to get back to full guard. Steel Penn is working for a kimura but Kennedy is defending it quite comfortably.
Steel Penn lands with a punch from half guard. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Kennedy wants to control but Steel Penn is keeping busy and won't allow it. Steel Penn prevents Kennedy from improving his position. Steel Penn is keen to just control but Kennedy is a slippery customer. The fighters are tangled up in the ropes here. We might need a restart if the fighters can't break free themselves.
That's one minute gone in the round. Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Steel Penn in particular looking to stall. That's three minutes gone in the round. Steel Penn throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Kennedy works some decent striking defense from the bottom. The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring. Steel Penn controlling from the top position. Kennedy is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive. Steel Penn looking to pass the guard. Kennedy working a defensive guard but Steel Penn manages to pass into side control anyway.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless. Steel Penn is looking to take a break and control but Kennedy is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. Kennedy is looking for a sweep. Kennedy is trying to get back to half guard. He's pushing on Steel Penn's leg. He's managed it. Nice work. Steel Penn is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there. Steel Penn seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. He lands a short punch in the meantime. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position. The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. Steel Penn lands a nice short elbow. Kennedy is not content to let Steel Penn control the position. Kennedy has hold of Steel Penn's hands but Steel Penn slips his arm to the side and lands an elbow. Kennedy tries to get to full guard but Steel Penn has control of the leg. Steel Penn is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Kennedy is looking for a sweep. Steel Penn is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position. Steel Penn is controlling the pace.

That's three minutes gone in the round. Kennedy throws a hook to the side of Steel Penn's head but Steel Penn sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully. Kennedy scores with a jab to the jaw. Kennedy slips under a jab from Steel Penn. Steel Penn lands a nice shot to the body.

Steel Penn seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Kennedy does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.

Kennedy is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent. A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Steel Penn accidentally thumps the mat. That's four minutes gone in the round. Kennedy uses good footwork to get in and out and land a nice right hand before Steel Penn has time to react. Kennedy misses with a right hand and Steel Penn counters with a lovely shot to the body. A telegraphed takedown attempt from Steel Penn is defended easily by Kennedy. Steel Penn looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight. Kennedy throws a lazy right hand but Steel Penn sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily. A decent looking cross lands there for Steel Penn. Steel Penn looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard. Kennedy is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Steel Penn's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Steel Penn's back! Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Steel Penn trying to control the action but Kennedy just sinks the hooks in. Steel Penn rolls and manages to get back to half guard. Nicely done.

Kennedy would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard. Kennedy looking to sit in guard and control but Steel Penn gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.
