Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Nicolas Cole (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jagannath McGREGOR (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). McGREGOR has chosen one for the money as his entrance music, which hasn't gone down very well with the crowd. Nicolas Cole has a significant reach advantage - let's see if he can make it count.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! McGREGOR shoots in and gets a takedown into Cole's guard. McGREGOR seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. McGREGOR trying to control the position from guard on top but Cole is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
That's one minute gone in the round. McGREGOR might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Cole haven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time. The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up.
The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet. McGREGOR defending well as Cole loads up on a big left hand. McGREGOR dives in and scores a takedown into Cole's guard. Cole working a defensive guard here.

McGREGOR is sitting in guard, working some ground and pound. McGREGOR throws a strike but Cole rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top. McGREGOR is avoiding any damage by keeping wrist control. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Cole's corner is telling him to maintain position. Cole will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions. McGREGOR throws a nice elbow from the bottom.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Cole is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long. Cole's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground. McGREGOR has an active guard here but Cole has managed to pass into half guard.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Cole gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows McGREGOR to score an easy takedown into full guard. McGREGOR preventing the sweep. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Cole fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging McGREGOR to the ground. Cole is now in McGREGOR's guard. McGREGOR is looking to stand back up but Cole counters by passing into half guard. Oops... bit sloppy there by McGREGOR. Jagannath McGREGOR has got the better of the ground game so far. McGREGOR blocking the ground and pound attempt from Cole. Cole stands up out of the half guard. McGREGOR looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard. McGREGOR moves into side control, avoiding a weak kimura attempt from Cole. McGREGOR looking to punish the body of his opponent here but Cole is avoiding damage well.
That's one minute gone in the round. Cole tries to get back to half guard but can't. McGREGOR is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Cole has escaped the position, nice work there. Cole wants to control but McGREGOR postures up. McGREGOR happy to just control the position for now. McGREGOR tries for a kimura but Cole is defending well. McGREGOR goes for an armbar here - this could be all over! But no, Cole has escaped beautifully and is now on top in side control! Oh, that's unlucky for McGREGOR but great work by Cole.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Cole staying calm. Further stalling from Cole. McGREGOR throws a couple of strikes even though he's not really in a good position to do so.

That's four minutes gone in the round. A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace. McGREGOR is trying to control but Cole passes into side control!
Cole stands up and we're back to a striking position. Cole lands a really nice looking cross but McGREGOR seems unphased.
McGREGOR is looking to clinch but Cole is avoiding it.

Cole is trying to defend but McGREGOR finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further. Cole kicks McGREGOR off and gets back to his feet. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close second round but I would say that Nicolas Cole will probably get the nod. The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action! This is the final round!
A momentary lapse in concentration from Cole enables McGREGOR to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Cole manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat. McGREGOR wants to control from the top but Cole keeps moving. Cole looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.
Cole tries to land a sweep but no joy. Cole had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. McGREGOR defends it easily. McGREGOR drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Cole dives on top into guard.

That's three minutes gone in the round. McGREGOR reaches up to try and control the position but Cole seems to have an arm triangle now! Uh oh! McGREGOR rolls and tries to escape and now Cole has his back!
Cole not allowing McGREGOR to control his hands. Cole is looking to finish the fight by rear naked choke. McGREGOR knows exactly what he's got planned though, so he's defending well. Maybe a few strikes would soften McGREGOR for a finish. McGREGOR wants to control his opponent's hands but Cole gets his hands free.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it. Cole looking to break McGREGOR's wrist control so he can sink in the choke. McGREGOR remaining controlled and patient though - he really has to keep calm otherwise Cole will wrap this one up with the rear naked choke! Cole is hanging on to McGREGOR's back as he tries to escape.

And that's the end of the fight! Nicolas Cole showed his dominance in that final round. Well Cole has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
