Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Boris Veenstra!
The judges for this bout are Daniel Blasius, Nard Betker and Saam Ante.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Veenstra closes the distance and lands a one-two.
Berry Gonzales seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Veenstra takes an uppercut right on the jaw but it doesn't phase him.
Veenstra throws a shot from downtown. Gonzales moves away and avoids it.
Gonzales swings wildly with a couple of big hooks
letting Veenstra counter with a right hand.

and Gonzales counters by moving into the clinch. Good anticipation by Gonzales.
Veenstra wants to get back to striking at distance but Gonzales won't allow it.

Gonzales slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard.

Veenstra is looking to stand back up... there's a bit of a scramble and Gonzales dives into side control.

Gonzales looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.
Gonzales sets himself, and Veenstra steps forward looking for the clinch! Gonzales avoids it this time.

Veenstra is trying escape back to his feet. He turns into his opponent's guard and eventually finds his way back to his feet.
Veenstra doesn't succeed with the takedown
and Gonzales counters with an inside leg kick.

Gonzales goes for a double leg but Veenstra avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Veenstra continues to drive forward.
Despite the aggression on Veenstra's face he doesn't fully commit to the counter.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

I would just about give that final round to Boris Veenstra.
