Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Peewee Herman (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Tully Blanchard (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). I can't wait for this one - let's get the fighter introductions out of the way and get this one started!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Blanchard throws out a loose jab but Herman uses good head movement to avoid it.
Blanchard lands with a cross to side of his opponent's head.

It looks like Peewee Herman has been cut.
Blanchard throws a lazy right hand but Herman sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.
Herman lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
Blanchard is pinned up against the cage taking some big shots here. The referee is looking closely deciding whether he should stop the fight.

It seemed like Blanchard was going to counter with the hook but didn't fully commit to it.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Blanchard drops Herman with a hook right on the temple. He thinks about going to the ground but Herman looks back up at him and smiles so Blanchard waves him back to his feet - he obviously thinks he can knock him out after that shot landed.

Herman ducks straight into an uppercut from Blanchard and tumbles to the canvas! It’s a flash knockdown though - Herman manages to regain guard straight away.

Blanchard ducks low and lands a nice hook to the body of his opponent.
Blanchard throws a hook to the side of Herman's head but Herman sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.

Blanchard is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Herman's half guard.

Blanchard tries a counter takedown but it's more of a dummy move, and he uses it to push himself away.

Blanchard drops down looking to force a counter takedown but Herman defends it well.

Blanchard shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Herman's guard.
Herman is looking to stand back up but Blanchard counters by passing into half guard. Oops... bit sloppy there by Herman.

Blanchard has been the more effective fighter overall so far.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

Blanchard might want to mix his strikes up a bit more. He's just going for head shots at the moment and that can become a bit predictable.
