Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Helio Perrera (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jose Cronos (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Cronos has chosen Sandstorm as his entrance music. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 22 - 11 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Helio Perrera!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 29 - 12 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Jose Cronos!
The judges for this bout are Frank Antenori, and Jack Bonds.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Perrera throws a right hand that misses
and Cronos counters with a series of strikes. Perrera will be more careful next time no doubt.
Cronos uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Perrera.
Cronos throws a fast counter high kick but Perrera manages to duck under it in time.
Perrera throws an ugly left hook that misses
and Cronos counters with a straight right hand.
Perrera digs a good body shot into Cronos's ribs.
Perrera lands a pitter patter jab to the forehead of his opponent.

Perrera rushes Cronos and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.
Perrera dictating the pace here, as the fighters clinch against the cage.

Cronos breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.

Perrera connects with a nice looking jab.
Cronos is pinned up against the cage taking some big shots here. The referee is looking closely deciding whether he should stop the fight.
Perrera missing with a left hand there. Cronos was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one.
Cronos unleashes a big counter combination but Perrera bobs and weaves and avoids any damage.

and Cronos counters with a stiff right hand.

Cronos shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Perrera is trying to defend but Cronos finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Perrera is concentrating on defense, preventing Cronos from advancing position.

Cronos is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.

Cronos is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Perrera sees it coming and defends easily.
Perrera is trying to control but can't.
Perrera is looking for a sweep. Cronos is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
Cronos is trying to control the action in half guard but Perrera is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.
Perrera wants to control but Cronos is keeping busy.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.

Perrera lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
Perrera ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Cronos moves away.
Perrera fails with a takedown attempt.
Cronos avoids a lazy jab quite easily.
Helio Perrera seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Perrera has taken the fight to the clinch.
Perrera misses with a shot to the kidneys.
Perrera goes for a body shot but it's blocked.
Perrera drops down looking for an ankle pick but Cronos pulls his leg out and moves away.

Perrera fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Cronos looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath.

Perrera fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Cronos looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath.

The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Perrera throws a hook but Cronos blocks it.
Perrera loads up on a big right hand but Cronos slips the punch.

As Perrera backs off Cronos throws a huge counter combo but Perrera manages to avoid it all.

The fighters are starting to get sweaty, which will make takedowns a bit more tricky.

That was a close round but I would say that Helio Perrera will probably get the nod.
That's time! Perrera's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.

A nice side step and Cronos releases a counter shot to the body, but it doesn't find it's home.

Jose Cronos is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Perrera is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Cronos.
Perrera takes a swing at Cronos's ribcage but misses.

Cronos stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Cronos wants it to stay on the feet.

Jose Cronos tried to hype himself up post fight but didn't word it too well and it ended up with him sounding like a bit of a tool.
