Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between David Kuai (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Henry Pollock (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). David Kuai could well score a knockout today. He has the power to get to Henry Pollock's chin.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, David Kuai!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Henry Pollock!
The judges for this bout are Ben Watson, Summer Carpenter and Skip Squint.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Kuai changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Pollock tries to avoid it but Kuai manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Pollock to the ground. Pollock escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Pollock wants to counter the offense by Kuai and move into the clinch position.
Kuai has a takedown stuffed.
Kuai avoids the head kick by Pollock.
Kuai tries to clinch
and Pollock counters with a three punch combo that has Kuai backing up. Kuai nods at Pollock to acknowledge the strikes.
Pollock lands a jab, followed by a cross and another cross, as Kuai backs up against the cage.
Kuai tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
Pollock lets it all go there with a big combo counter but none of the punches connected.
Kuai will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
A solid leg kick lands there for Pollock.

Pollock moves into range and clinches up with Kuai.
Pollock stops a takedown attempt from Kuai.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for David Kuai. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Pollock works for the underhooks and manages to get a trip takedown into guard.
Pollock controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling.

Kuai is active off his back here, looking for submissions.
Pollock slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.

Kuai could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Pollock won't allow Kuai to get back to his feet.

Kuai working away from the bottom but not quite defensive enough there because Pollock has passed into half guard!
Pollock throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage.
Kuai is breathing heavily.
Pollock looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding.
Pollock throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man.
Kuai might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.

Pollock stalling.
We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.
Pollock lands with a nice low kick. That'll leave a bruise.
Pollock's corner calls for a 1-2. Pollock obliges with the 1 part as he scores the single shot and moves back out of range.

and Pollock counters with a takedown into side control! That could mean trouble for Kuai!
Kuai dodges the ground and pound from Pollock.
Pollock staying calm.
Kuai prevents Pollock from moving into mount.

Kuai is trying to escape the position but Pollock is controlling the position.
Pollock fails to land a wild elbow strike.
Pollock creates some space and throws a big elbow, but Kuai sees it coming and moves his head just enough to avoid the strike.
Pollock is chipping away with strikes.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Pollock is maintaining the dominant position - no doubt Kuai will start to get frustrated soon if he's not already.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Pollock tries to move into full mount but can't pass Kuai's legs.

That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.

Kuai manages to create a bit of space in order to work his way back to his feet. Pollock keeps hold of his opponent and drives him back against the cage.
Pollock works for underhooks and lands a body shot in the process.

Pollock breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Pollock connects with a leg kick. He turned his hip over nicely there.
This has been an exciting period of action!

Kuai wants to break free. God knows he wants to breaaaak freeee.

Pollock has been the more effective fighter overall so far.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Kuai trying to control the position from guard on top but Pollock is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Pollock has a closed guard, preventing anything of note from happening. Perhaps he's looking to stall.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.
Kuai shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Pollock sprawls well. Pollock wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Kuai gets slowly back to his feet.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

and Pollock holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch.

Pollock gets a nice trip takedown into half guard.
Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Pollock in particular looking to stall.

Pollock is continuing to stall.
Pollock sitting in half guard, looking to land shots. Kuai defending well though.
Pollock is looking to pass the guard... He's managed it - he's now in full mount!

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Kuai wants to control but Pollock is having none of it.
Pollock controlling the pace for now.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

Henry Pollock showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. This is the final round!

Kuai is trying to force a seperation but Pollock has the dominant position.

Pollock has clasped his hands together around Kuai's back... aaand, he's got a takedown into side control. Nicely done.

Kuai sneaks out the side door and pushes Pollock away - he's back to his feet. The crowd show their appreciation for the escape.

Kuai has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. Pollock avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.

Pollock has hold of one of Kuai's legs. Kuai is fighting the takedown attempt but Pollock gets the trip and lands the takedown into guard.

Pollock seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.

Kuai manages to wriggle out and sneak his way back up to his feet, so the fighters are now clinched up against the cage.
Kuai is working for a takedown up against the cage. He can't get it on this occasion though.

Kuai is looking for a takedown.

Pollock pulls Kuai into guard.
Pollock looking to sweep here. No luck so far.

Pollock has scooted to the edge of the canvas and used the cage to get back to his feet. Kuai has stuck on his opponent and is forcing him back against the cage.

Pollock taking a break, stalling in the clinch.

Pollock jumps into guard, dragging Kuai to the mat.
Pollock lands a beautiful sweep and he's now moved into his opponent's guard.

Pollock working from the guard for now, landing some ground and pound.
Pollock wants to pass the guard but Kuai is keeping the position.
Pollock controls the pace of the fight for a moment.
Let's hope that Pollock has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.

Henry Pollock comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Pollock has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
