Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between John Connor (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jimmy Chance (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). I don't know about you partner, but I'm pumped for this one!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the heavyweight championship of the world! Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, John Connor! And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Jimmy Chance! The judges for this bout are Ron Honeybunn, Hugh Johnson and Ben Hemmingworth.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Connor on the wrong end of a decent looking cross there.
Chance throws a solid leg kick but Connor takes the impact on his shin and smiles at Chance. Chance loads up on a big right hand but Connor slips the punch. Connor avoids a lazy jab quite easily. Connor misses the jab. Chance's coach down at Makaveli fighting arts inc was telling us pre-fight that they have been working on Chance's balance. Obviously they view that as a key factor in the outcome of this fight. A looping hook to the body misses from Connor. Chance does a little dance to reset his feet. Connor takes a shot right to the bread basket. Connor gets his head snapped back by a nice shot there. A looping hook to the body misses from Connor. Chance does a little dance to reset his feet. Connor stumbles momentarily as he takes a strong leg kick from Chance. Chance cracks Connor with a right hand to the side of the head. Connor throws a sloppy body shot
and Chance counters with a two punch combo. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Connor walks into a stiff left hand from Chance. Chance looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Connor is fending him off so far but Chance persists. Nope, Connor circles away and we're back to standing. Connor was looking to counter that last move with a shot to the body but he didn't commit. Chance shapes like he's going to throw a leg kick but settles back down.
That's one minute gone in the round. Chance bobbing and weaving, closes the distance and lands a hook to the side of Connor's head. Chance feints and then cracks Connor's leading leg with a nice low kick. He's obviously looking to slow Connor down. Chance defending well as Connor loads up on a big left hand. Chance tries to clinch but Connor is having none of it. Connor swung with a counter punch to the body but it didn't connect. Chance dips down and scores with a jab to the body. Chance misses with a leg kick. Connor takes a swing at Chance's ribcage but misses. Chance lands a jab, followed by a cross and another cross, as Connor backs up against the cage.
Connor misses with a wild body shot. Connor throws a lazy right hand but Chance sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily. Connor is looking light on his feet compared to last time was saw him fight. Chance misses with a combination
and Connor counters with a shoot takedown. Chance fights it but they end up in guard. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Connor trying to control the position from guard on top but Chance is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Chance being controlled here, momentarily.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Connor wants to control from the top but Chance keeps moving. Connor in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time. Chance keeping moving, preventing Connor from controlling successfully. Connor stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Chance swivels though and keeps the full guard. Chance keeping moving, preventing Connor from controlling successfully. Connor with a flurry of punches that miss. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Jimmy Chance dominated that round. The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!
Chance throws a combination. Connor tries to block but a couple of punches get through. Chance looks for a takedown but Connor sprawls well. Connor wants to take advantage of his opponent's missed offense by moving into the clinch. Connor misses with a lunging right hand
letting Chance counter with a right hand. Connor takes a body punch that cleary hurt but he's trying not to show any weakness. Connor throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Chance tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Connor is in Chance's guard. Connor throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent. Connor throwing strikes from guard but Chance blocks nicely. Connor throws an elbow that misses. Chance uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Connor's guard. Nice move by Chance!
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Connor has control of Chance's left arm, preventing Chance from doing any damage. Chance wants to stand but Connor has a closed guard, so he can't escape.
That's one minute gone in the round. Chance throws a big right hand that misses. Connor has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Chance can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself. Connor manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Chance manages to get himself to full guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Chance can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Connor controls the pace. Chance has been the more effective fighter overall so far. Connor works a leg free and moves into half guard. Chance tries to roll over but Connor keeps him under control. Connor thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Chance's head. Chance is staying active underneath Connor, who seems content to just control the action from this position.

Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Chance. Connor sitting in mount, just looking to control for the moment. Connor tries to control but Chance wriggling away. Chance throwing punches from his back but nothing is landing. Connor is dominating on the ground here - he's now on his opponent's back, looking to sink in the hooks. Chance is in real trouble.
You can see the frustration on Chance's face… He knows he is in trouble unless he improves his position sooner rather than later.

John Connor dominated that second round. That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.

It looked like Connor wanted to counter with a hook but didn't fully commit. Connor is looking to wear down Chance with body shots, infact he's throwing more body shots than head shots at the moment. Let's see what he can do from the top position. Connor working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage. Connor stands and throws Chance's legs to the side, diving into side control. Connor advances to full mount. Connor looking to ground and pound but Chance is blocking nicely.

John Connor clearly takes that round. The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!
Chance uses good footwork to get in and out and land a nice right hand before Connor has time to react. Chance shoots in for a takedown but Connor shows good takedown defense. Chance throws a sloppy head kick and Connor moves out of range easily. Nice defenses there by Connor. Connor swings and misses with a hook to the body.

Connor needs to keep his hands up - Chance had a free shot at his head there. Connor displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Chance throws out the jab. Chance darts in looking for a takedown but Connor gets double underhooks and turns Chance into the cage. Connor is looking to counter with a shot to the body. Connor misses with a body shot. Connor passes Chance's right leg, so he's now in half guard. Connor works his foot free and advances to mount. Chance is squirming around, avoiding Connor's attempts to control the action. Chance blocking the ground and pound. Connor looking to control but Chance is working nicely, looking to advance position himself. Connor takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though. Chance is working to get back to half guard.

John Connor had his way with Jimmy Chance in that round. That's time! Connor's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight. This is the final round!
Connor gets the takedown into side control. Chance is not content to let Connor control the position. Connor looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything. Connor wants to lay and pray for a moment but Chance keeps working. Connor throws an elbow but Chance slips to the side and avoids it well. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Connor has knee on belly and now moves to full mount! Trouble for Chance! Connor looking to control but Chance is working nicely, looking to advance position himself.

Connor can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Chance is looking to escape. Connor looking to finish with strikes here!
