Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Robert Desin (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Robert Tatli (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Robert Desin has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Robert Desin!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Robert Tatli!
The judges for this bout are Anni Minnemäki, Arvi Lind and Marco Blurström.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Tatli instigates a clinch.
Desin looks exhausted already! Oh dear, he should have come in in better shape than this!
The two fighters are working to gain dominance in the clinch.
Desin is working for takedown but Tatli is calmly controlling the position for now.
Desin has been talking about how he's improved his wrestling in the run up to the fight so let's see if that's enough to sway the balance.

Tatli escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.

Tatli shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Desin's guard.
Tatli is standing up over Desin. Desin looks to escape but Tatli dives into side control.

Tatli is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Desin knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.
The referee asks Tatli politely if he wouldn't mind getting on with it and actually doing something. Tatli prefers to stall for the moment though.

Tatli decides to take the fight back to the feet.

Desin breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.

Tatli feints and as Desin raises his hands in defense, Tatli changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.

Tatli is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.
Desin can't keep his opponent in guard - Tatli advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount.
Tatli looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding.

Tatli is looking to pass the guard... He's managed it - he's now in full mount!

Tatli shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in side control! That's better than Tatli was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!

The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.



Tatli closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.

Tatli ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. Tatli no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard.
Tatli has a closed guard, preventing anything of note from happening. Perhaps he's looking to stall.
Tatli manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Desin manages to get himself to full guard.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Tatli looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.

Desin knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Tatli on the ground.
Desin wants to improve his position but Tatli is controlling well.

Tatli slips a nice elbow through Desin's hands, connecting with Desin's forehead.
Tatli passes the half guard and he's now in mount! Big trouble for Desin!
Tatli takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.
Let's hope that Tatli has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.

Robert Tatli showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. This is the final round!

Tatli is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

Both fighters are breathing heavily.
Tatli is landing with some decent strikes but Desin is trying to advance his position so the referee is letting the fight continue.

Tatli has control of Desin's right arm, working for a kimura. It's a bit of a token attempt though and Desin regains control of the situation pretty easily.
Tatli has been the more effective fighter overall so far.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Desin tries to lock up and control but Tatli gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.

Well Tatli has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
