Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
3 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Gabriel FalleN! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Sanalya Kashka! The judges for this bout are Paulo Santos, Leandro Rodrigues and Edson Gomes.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Kashka takes one to the side of the head.
It looks like Sanalya Kashka has been cut. We can't be sure of the tactics at this early stage but we have heard that Kashka has been working on his takedowns a lot in the buildup to the fight and we can only assume he's going to look to take this to the mat. Kashka ducks under a wild hook from FalleN. FalleN misses the shot to the body. FalleN dips down and scores with a jab to the body. FalleN getting the better of the striking in that exchange. FalleN with a body punch. A glancing blow. Kashka closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. You can see the frustration on FalleN's face, being in this tough position on the bottom. Kashka thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead. FalleN can't do much from the bottom here.
That's one minute gone in the round. FalleN is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Kashka is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him. Kashka is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, FalleN has escaped the position, nice work there. FalleN is trying to get back to half guard.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight. Kashka working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it. FalleN tries to bench press Kashka off him but Kashka keeps the position. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. FalleN controls the position for a moment. FalleN on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if FalleN tries to get out of the position. FalleN is trying to get back to half guard.
That's three minutes gone in the round. FalleN is trying to get back to half guard. He's pushing on Kashka's leg. Oh but that's left an opportunity for Kashka! He's got an arm triangle... it looks tight! He's rotating and FalleN has tapped! This one is allllll over!
