PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Alex Rivera (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Tyrone Van Der Berg (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Van Der Berg has chosen Moi Misi as his entrance music, which hasn't gone down very well with the crowd. Tyrone Van Der Berg will no doubt be looking to use his reach advantage to good effect.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Rivera dives in for a single leg takedown but Van Der Berg sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage.
Van Der Berg is trying to avoid his opponent's strikes and get into the clinch.
Rivera shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Van Der Berg defends it nicely.
Van Der Berg tries to counter with a clinch but Rivera shakes him off and moves away.

Rivera clinches up with Van Der Berg and pushes him back against the cage.
Van Der Berg wants to take the fight to the mat but Rivera manages to get underhooks and keep the fight in the clinch.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.

Van Der Berg drops back, looking for a kneebar! Rivera looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Rivera looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Rivera!

Rivera misses with a strike but at least he's keeping busy, looking to cause some damage - that will still help him when it comes to the judges scorecards.

Van Der Berg takes a big shot right to the temple there but he's taken it well.
Van Der Berg tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Rivera wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.

Van Der Berg is persisting with the attempt to improve his position.

Rivera has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

Rivera is working for a guillotine from mount but Van Der Berg frees his head quite easily.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!

Rivera looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Van Der Berg with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.

Alex Rivera overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
Rivera is nestled in close to Van Der Berg, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure.

That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. This is the final round!

Van Der Berg has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Rivera is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet.

Rivera has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics Van Der Berg uses from the top position.

Well I reckon that's a shut out for Rivera, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
