Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Ivan Eriksson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and John Johnson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Eriksson comes to the cage accompanied by Requiem For a Dream. The key to victory for Ivan Eriksson has got to be keeping the fight on the feet.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the lightweight championship of the world! Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
6 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Ivan Eriksson! And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
5 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, John Johnson! The judges for this bout are Donatello Bradman, Winston Howard and John Mangel.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Eriksson pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Johnson avoids the body shot from Eriksson.
Ivan Eriksson seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Johnson staying out of range there. Eriksson swinging wilding here.
Johnson fails with a takedown attempt. Eriksson stuffs the takedown attempt from Johnson. Johnson gets slowly back to his feet. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Johnson shoots in and drives through. Eriksson sprawls well. Ivan Eriksson has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of John Johnson. Johnson bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control. Eriksson is moving his hips around well on the bottom and has managed to get back to half guard. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
That's one minute gone in the round. Eriksson manages to get to full guard.

Eriksson is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move. Eriksson seems to be looking for submissions.
Johnson works his way to full guard. Good work. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Eriksson is breathing heavily.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Johnson keeping full guard, as Eriksson tries to pass. Johnson looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.

Eriksson avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
Eriksson passes into half guard. Johnson is defending against the submission attempts here by Eriksson.
The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now. Johnson actively working from the bottom here.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Eriksson is working for a kimura but Johnson is defending it quite comfortably.
Eriksson not throwing his punches with enough precision this time. Eriksson wants to lay and pray for a moment but Johnson keeps working. Eriksson is scoring with some nice ground and pound from the dominant position. Eriksson is looking for a kimura here.
Johnson tries to get to full guard but Eriksson has control of the leg.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight. Eriksson is trying to work for a kimura but Johnson is defending well.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Eriksson pushing out the jab but it's not landing. Johnson drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Johnson is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Eriksson knows the correct defense though, so he's OK. Eriksson tries to bench press Johnson off him but Johnson keeps the position. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
John Johnson dominated that round. The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!
Johnson looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard. Eriksson is pressing down on Johnson's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it. Eriksson escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Johnson gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance. Eriksson keeping full guard, as Johnson tries to pass. Eriksson manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Johnson manages to get himself to full guard.
Eriksson wanted to stand there but Johnson had control of the position. Eriksson stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Johnson swivels though and keeps the full guard. Eriksson has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
That's one minute gone in the round. Johnson has managed to work for a loose triangle. I think Eriksson should be able to defend this one pretty easily though. Oh, Johnson has tightened it up now! Eriksson should have reacted faster there - he's in big trouble and yes, he's tapped out! This one is all over!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:22 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Triangle). John Johnson! John Johnson is the new lightweight champion!
