Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
2 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Tomas Ayers! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Shin Pak! The judges for this bout are Alec Ball, Ian Loll and Trevor Gratis.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Ayers changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Pak tries to avoid it but Ayers manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Pak to the ground. Pak escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet. An inside leg kick lands from Ayers. Pak clinches. Ayers breaks from the clinch.
Pak darts in and clinches Ayers up against the cage. Pak manages to break the clinch.
Ayers gets tackled into the cage by Pak. Pak maintains the clinch. Pak breaks the clinch.
Pak fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging Ayers to the ground. Pak is now in Ayers's guard. Ayers kicks Pak off and gets to his feet. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Pak moves into the clinch successfully.
Pak lands a takedown into guard.
Ayers keeping moving, preventing Pak from controlling successfully. Ayers throws some shots to the body, keeping his opponent honest.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
That's one minute gone in the round. Pak trying to control the position from guard on top but Ayers is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Pak stops Ayers from standing up. Ayers will have to put a bit more behind his punches if he's going to do any damage from this position.
Ayers is looking for a triangle but Pak pushes his legs off easily.
Ayers has his hands on Pak's head, controlling the position. Ayers wants to sweep here but Pak controlling him for the moment. Ayers looking for a guillotine here but Pak defends easily.

That's two minutes gone in the round. Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless. Pak seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up. Pak drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Pak jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position. Ayers could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely. Pak decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Ayers, up you get! Pak takes a head kick and shrugs it off.
Pak goes for a spinning back kick but it misses. Ayers lifts his leg as if looking to counter with a high kick. Shin Pak seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Pak bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control. Pak lands a knee to the body and a forearm to the face. Ayers manages to work his way to half guard, despite Pak's best efforts. Ayers is trying to control but can't.
Ayers controlling the position well. Ayers might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.
That's three minutes gone in the round. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now. Ayers throws a strike from the bottom but Pak passes into side control!
Pak works a knee to the body and follows up with a nice elbow to the head. Ayers is being controlled here. Ayers can't do much from the bottom here. Pak working the body and head with strikes. Pak stands up and beckons Ayers to his feet. Pak throws a head kick that misses. Pak is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Ayers's half guard. Ayers makes some distance and scrambles quickly back to his feet. Nice work! Pak looks winded!
That's four minutes gone in the round. Pak rushes Ayers and presses him up against the cage. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Pak pulls guard. Pak is looking to stand back up... there's a bit of a scramble and Ayers dives into side control.
Ayers controlling the position from side mount. Pak tries to improve position but can't. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
A close round but Shin Pak will probably get the nod. The cut man is working on Tomas Ayers's cut. The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!
Pak closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. Ayers quickly recovers to half guard. Ayers is trying to get back to full guard. Pak is trying to control the action in half guard but Ayers is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard. Pak stands up out of the half guard. Ayers has managed to clinch.
Pak misses the knee to the body. Nice hip positioning from Ayers.

Ayers tries to break free but Pak pushes him back against the cage. Ayers tries for a takedown. No joy.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Ayers lands a nice elbow from the clinch. Ayers breaks the clinch.
Pak lands a leg kick. The shin dug right into the meat of the thigh. Pak fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Ayers, pushing him back against the cage.
That's one minute gone in the round. Ayers breaks from the clinch.
A head kick misses from Pak. Pak throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Ayers was covering up waiting for the punch and Pak finishes the takedown easily into guard. Ayers pushes Pak off and gets back to his feet.
Pak is breathing heavily. Pak has taken the fight to the clinch.
Pak has double underhooks and is working for a body lock takedown. He's got it. The fighters land in half guard but Ayers regains guard immediately. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Connects with an elbow from the bottom, proving to the judges that he's still active off his back.
That's two minutes gone in the round. A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Pak accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand. Ayers is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Pak defends well. Ayers looking to control.
Both fighters have adopted an aggressive gameplan on the ground! Pak trying to control but Ayers is working from the bottom. Pak is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long. Ayers keeping moving, preventing Pak from controlling successfully. Ayers wants to sweep but no luck. Pak looking to pass the guard. Ayers is looking to stand up but Pak isn't so interested in that idea. Pak is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Pak buckles his opponent's knee momentarily with a nice leg kick.
Ayers is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Pak's half guard. The referee calls for the fighters to work.
Shin Pak has got the better of the ground game so far. Pak wants to get back to full guard. The step up in weight doesn't seem to be a problem for Pak. He's performing admirably here against the bigger man. Pak is trying to maintain the position but Ayers is very close to passing his half guard. Pak tries to kick Ayers off but Ayers keeps his base steady and stays in half guard.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Ayers seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense. Ayers seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Pak for as long as he can get away with.
The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity. Ayers throws a head kick that misses. Pak gets in close and instigates a clinch. Ayers lands an elbow that stopped Pak in his tracks for a moment. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
A close second round but Shin Pak will probably get the nod - 10:9. The cut man is working on Tomas Ayers's cut. The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. This is the final round!

He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up. Pak is pulling down on Ayers's head to control his posture. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Ayers slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard. Ayers stopping the sweep attempt from Pak.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Pak takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired. Ayers looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into side control! Oh, that's bad for Pak! Pak bucks up and tries to throw Ayers off but instead Ayers has got his back!
That's two minutes gone in the round. Pak is trying to get back to his feet but he's not managed it yet. Pak is being controlled on the ground here - he must escape this position otherwise surely the end is near.

Ayers has the hooks sunk in and you can see the will to fight slowly draining out of Pak's body.
Pak is trying to get back to his feet but Ayers has full control of the position and if anything, Pak has just worked his way into a worse spot.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless. Pak has his hands over his head blocking the strikes from Ayers. Ayers throwing damaging strikes from the back! Pak could be in trouble here!
Ayers throwing lazy shots from the back mount that aren't doing any damage. Pak is being controlled on the ground here - he must escape this position otherwise surely the end is near.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
