Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Dominic Vera (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Homer J Pimpson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Vera comes to the cage accompanied by Romper Stomper. I don't know about you partner, but I'm pumped for this one!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
5 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Dominic Vera!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
5 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Homer J Pimpson!
The judges for this bout are Hugh Johnson, Summer Carpenter and Donatello Bradman.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Pimpson tries a head kick but it misses.
Pimpson throws a head kick that connects with a bit of head and a bit of hand.
Pimpson closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Vera to the mat! Vera manages to get full guard.
Vera is trying to control the position but Pimpson postures up.
Vera wants to stand and escape but Pimpson is having none of it.
Pimpson pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Vera is keeping the position for now.
Vera throwing some rather feeble looking strikes off his back.
Pimpson drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Vera manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Pimpson has Vera in his guard.
Vera stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Pimpson swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Vera chips away with some ground and pound.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Vera is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.
Vera postures up and lands some nice ground and pound.
Pimpson throwing strikes off his back to little effect.
Pimpson escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Vera gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
Vera looking to control the position here, rather than advance.
Pimpson keeping full guard, as Vera tries to pass.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Vera stands up from guard. Let's bang!
Vera jabs at Pimpson's body.
Pimpson swinging wilding here.
Vera lands a jab. Then a cross. Then finally a nice hook to the body. Good work there by Vera.
Vera misses with the combination.
Vera throws a left and a right that both miss
and Pimpson counters with a head kick. That will keep Vera thinking before he tries any more sloppy attacks!
Vera fails to land with a series of punches.
Vera throws a sloppy head kick and Pimpson moves out of range easily.
A left and a right from Vera both land. Nice combination.
Vera throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Vera fakes low and throws an overhand right that catches Pimpson on the side of the head.

and Pimpson counters with a big head kick but Vera shrugs it off.
Vera fails to land with a series of punches.
Vera tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
That's three minutes gone in the round.
Pimpson walks straight into a jab right on the nose. That one stung - he's blinking and trying to clear his head.
Pimpson pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Vera misses with a jab, cross combination.

Vera fails to land with a series of punches.
Vera connects with a lovely jab that went straight through the gap between Pimpson's hands.
Vera shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Oh and he's advanced to full mount straight away.
Vera cracks Pimpson with a nasty head shot there - the crowd let out an audible gasp there, as the noise reverberated around the arena.
Vera lands with some strikes.
Vera has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Pimpson tries to improve his position but Vera has taken his back! Vera has a choke - it's sunk in pretty tight... Will Pimpson tap? No... maybe... yes! He's tapped! Vera pushes Pimpson away and gets up to celebrate with his corner!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:52 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (RNC). Dominic Vera!
