Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Jeffry Cooley (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Igor Pereira (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters will be looking to make this an exciting fight for the fans, I'm sure!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of London, Jeffry Cooley!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 1, fighting out of London, Igor Pereira!
The judges for this bout are Paul Tew, Sam Margolis and Richard Clark.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Pereira shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard.
Pereira throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage.
Cooley trying to hold on to Pereira's head to control him but Pereira postures up.
Pereira throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man.
Pereira trying to control the action but Cooley is working from the bottom.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Cooley is looking to control Pereira's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Cooley avoid being mounted?
Pereira really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Cooley. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Cooley holds on for dear life, maintaining half guard for now.
Cooley is refusing to be controlled, as Pereira sits in half guard.

Cooley is trying to stand up here but Pereira is controlling him well.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.
Pereira changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Cooley tries to avoid it but Pereira manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Cooley to the ground. Cooley escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.

A quick step to the side and Cooley tries to counter with a shot to the body but it doesn't connect.

Cooley clinches up with Pereira and pushes him back against the cage.
Cooley is looking to break free of the clinch but Pereira has double underhooks.

Cooley manages to get underhooks and slows down the pace for a moment.
Pereira is looking to take this one to the mat.
Jeffry Cooley has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Igor Pereira.

Pereira slaps away a takedown attempt from Cooley, before circling back to the center of the mat.
Pereira tries to clinch up but Cooley circles away and keeps his distance.
Pereira throws a right high kick that is partially blocked by Cooley.
Pereira dives in for a single leg takedown but Cooley sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage.

Cooley throws a vicious knee straight up the middle but Pereira blocks it with crossed arms.
Cooley misses with some punches.
Cooley tries a knee to the head but he's missed.

Cooley content to slow the pace in the clinch.
The crowd are getting pretty annoyed with Cooley for his constant stalling in the clinch and are voicing their displeasure.

Pereira tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Cooley just stands there and leans against the cage.
Pereira blocks an uppercut.
We've been informed that Pereira has been working hard on his conditioning in the buildup to the fight.
Cooley tries to break the clinch but Pereira is controlling the position.
Cooley scores with an uppercut up the middle.
Cooley softening up his opponent with strikes, against the cage.

Pereira escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.

Cooley looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Cooley thows a huge punch but Pereira dodges it nicely.

Cooley escapes and gets back to his feet.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Jeffry Cooley dominated that round.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.


Pereira displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Cooley.
Igor Pereira seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Pereira goes for a double leg but Cooley avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Cooley continues to drive forward.
Cooley shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Pereira as he jumps to the side.

Cooley shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Cooley showed some decent athleticism there.

The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Pereira kicks off Cooley and gets to his feet.
Pereira is breathing heavily.

Pereira shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Cooley as he avoids it easily.

Cooley gets in close and instigates a clinch.
The two fighters are working to gain dominance in the clinch.
Pereira has had enough of the clinch but Cooley keeps him there for the moment.
Pereira stalling in the clinch but Cooley improves position.
Cooley tries a knee to the head but Pereira blocks it.
Cooley throws a knee to the head but misses.
Pereira managing to block the knees to the body from Cooley.
Pereira blocks an uppercut.
Pereira misses with a knee to the head.
Cooley throws an elbow but it misses.
Cooley's corner are urging him to control the action in the clinch for a moment, rather than mount any serious offense. I'm sure the crowd appreciate those instructions... not.
Pereira jumps guard but Cooley stands there with Pereira around his waist. Pereira gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.

Still in the clinch, Cooley scores with a nice short uppercut.

Pereira pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Nice sprawl there from Pereira as Cooley shoots in.
Cooley looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Pereira is fending him off so far but Cooley persists. Nope, Pereira circles away and we're back to standing.
Cooley doesn't manage to clinch there - Pereira circles away.

Pereira moves into range and clinches up with Cooley.
Cooley is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Pereira can do to turn this around?

Pereira throws a half hearted mid kick.
Pereira shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Cooley as he jumps to the side.

Cooley closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.
Cooley creates some space and throws a big elbow, but Pereira sees it coming and moves his head just enough to avoid the strike.

Cooley tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Cooley has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!
Igor Pereira has got the better of the ground game so far.

Cooley tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though.
Pereira gets back to half guard.
Cooley content to control rather than advance.
Pereira is looking to improve his position.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Cooley in half guard on the top. He's looking for a kimura... He's got it locked and he's managed to free his trapped foot. Pereira tries to escape but it's on too tight and he has to tap! Great BJJ skills there from Cooley!
