Coming up we have a super heavyweight kickboxing rules bout between Sadaharu Tanikawa (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Philipnchen Mueller (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). I'm sure you'll be fascinated to know that I was talking to some pointless Z list celebrity before the fight and he thought that Philipnchen Mueller was going to win. Let's see if he was right.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Sadaharu Tanikawa!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
5 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Philipnchen Mueller!
The judges for this bout are Tarja Halkonen, Matti Vanhoillinen and Johanna Lukiainen.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Tanikawa tries to clinch up against the ropes, rushing in to close the distance. Mueller manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
Tanikawa takes the fight into the clinch.
Tanikawa misses with a hook to the ribs.
Tanikawa is trying to stall.
Mueller has Tanikawa pushed against the ropes.

Mueller is trying to break the clinch but Tanikawa is controlling him.

Tanikawa is looking to control Mueller's arms but Mueller gets an underhook and turns him. Now Tanikawa has his back to the ropes.

Tanikawa seems a little flustered. He's come in with the intention of controlling the clinch but Mueller is preventing him from doing so, at least for the moment.
Mueller's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Tanikawa tries to close the distance and clinch up against the ropes but Mueller paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Tanikawa fails with an attempt to clinch.
Despite the aggression on Mueller's face he doesn't fully commit to the counter.
Mueller tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
It looked like Tanikawa was looking amped, ready to throw a big counter but didn't commit.
Tanikawa doesn't manage to clinch there - Mueller circles away.
Mueller lets it all go there with a big combo counter but none of the punches connected.
Mueller forces Tanikawa back against the ropes and clinches.
Mueller is stalling here.
Tanikawa swings wildly with an uppercut but Mueller uses good head movement to avoid it.

Mueller escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Tanikawa throws a series of punches but Mueller moves out of range.

Mueller lands a jab. Then a cross. Then finally a nice hook to the body. Good work there by Mueller.

That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.

Tanikawa tried to land a shot to the body but connects with Mueller's elbow.
Mueller blocks a knee to the body. He'll have a nicely bruised forearm in the morning.

Philipnchen Mueller seems to be working more effectively in the clinch in the fight so far.

Mueller throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Mueller has been the more effective fighter overall so far.
Tanikawa looks for the body kick but Mueller saw that one coming.

Mueller tries a shoulder strike but it doesn't do any damage.
Both guys are working to get underhooks.
Tanikawa keeps control of Mueller as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks.
Mueller pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.

Tanikawa scores with a jab and follows up with an uppercut that drops Mueller to his knees! He bounces straight back to his feet but is forced to take the mandatory standing 8 count before he's allowed to continue. We're back under way and the fighters meet in the middle of the canvas to re-engage.
It looks like Philipnchen Mueller has been cut.

Tanikawa lands a head kick that sends Mueller down! Mueller is flopping around the mat trying to get back up, leaving the referee no choice but to wave off the fight! Tanikawa is victorious!
