Coming up we have a featherweight kickboxing rules bout between Thomas Buffel (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jiri Necas (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Jiri Necas has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
5 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Thomas Buffel! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
4 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Jiri Necas! The judges for this bout are Ben Zyskovitsi, Arvi Lind and Johanna Lukiainen.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Necas throws a leg kick and Buffel counters with a three punch combo that has Necas backing up. Necas nods at Buffel to acknowledge the strikes. Jiri Necas seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Necas misses with a low kick. No joy there for Necas, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Buffel wants to take advantage of his opponent's missed offense by moving into the clinch. The fight moves into the clinch position. Buffel is clearly stalling here... Pick up the pace son.
Buffel tries a body shot but Necas blocks it.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Necas looks like he'd prefer to be striking at range right now.
That's one minute gone in the round. Necas blocks a couple of punches on the inside.
Necas blocks an elbow strike. Buffel blocks a couple of punches on the inside.
Necas wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but Buffel has him pressed against the ropes. Necas breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat. Necas rushes Buffel and pushes him back against the ropes in a clinch. A battle for position here, against the ropes. Buffel throws an elbow that misses.

That's two minutes gone in the round. Necas misses with the head strike.

Necas's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does. Necas misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Necas misses with a double jab
letting Buffel counter with a right hand. Necas throws the kick towards the body but Buffel avoids it. Buffel tries to counter by clinching up but Necas breaks away and moves out of range. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Necas throws a leg kick but Buffel sees it coming and checks it nicely. Necas throws a sloppy head kick and Buffel moves out of range easily. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
A close round but Jiri Necas will probably get the nod. The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!
Necas's corner calls for a 1, 2 combination and Necas duly obliges. Necas misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Necas clinches. Buffel misses the knee to the body. Nice hip positioning from Necas.
Buffel tries to stall but Necas uses the opportunity to gain a better position.
Buffel has a couple of punches blocked by Necas.

Necas should think about turning a few of those tyres round his middle into muscle if he wants people to take him seriously as an athlete.
That's two minutes gone in the round. A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd. Buffel misses with a body punch.
Necas tries a knee to the head but he's missed.

Buffel is leaning against Necas and scores with a nice uppercut to the body. Necas wants to break free. God knows he wants to breaaaak freeee. Necas has been the more effective fighter overall so far. Buffel tries to work over Necas's body with a swooping hook but it only glances the target. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Buffel has Necas pressed against the ropes, preventing Necas from circling away and getting back to striking at range. Necas looks like he'd prefer to be striking at range right now. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Jiri Necas showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. So, we enter the final round. Let's see if either fighter can bring us a finish, or whether we're going to the judges scorecards.
Necas instigates a clinch. Buffel manages to get underhooks and slows down the pace for a moment.
Necas is looking to score with knees to the body. Maybe he'll change it up and go body then head. Buffel is defending well for now. Necas escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.

Jiri Necas seems to be getting the better of the standup. Necas rushes Buffel and presses him up against the ropes. Buffel keeps the fight in the clinch, despite Necas's efforts to push away. Come on Necas - let's have some action - none of this stalling nonsense.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Necas tries to break the clinch but Buffel is controlling the position. Necas manages to get underhooks and slows down the pace for a moment.

And that's the end of the fight! Jiri Necas comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. Well Necas has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
