PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Dmitry Boitsov (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Reginald Kray (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Reginald Kray will no doubt be looking to use his reach advantage to good effect.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Dmitry Boitsov!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 6 - 6 - 0, fighting out of London, Reginald Kray!
The judges for this bout are Donald Grub, Andrew Berry and William Gold.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Boitsov will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
Boitsov swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target.
Kray looks like he wants to counter punch here.
Boitsov looks to land a left hand but Kray moved out of range nicely.
Boitsov changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Kray tries to avoid it but Boitsov manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Kray to the ground. Kray escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
No luck for Boitsov with that takedown attempt.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Dmitry Boitsov. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Boitsov steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Kray.
Kray lands with an uppercut that bounces Boitsov off the cage and back into range.

Kray gets caught flat footed, as Boitsov shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.
Boitsov passes Kray's left leg - he's now in half guard.

Boitsov is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Kray is just riding it out for now. Boitsov eventually gives up the hold.

Boitsov is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Kray defends it well.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Boitsov is working on an americana here. Ooh, that looks pretty nasty! Nope, Kray has managed to escape the submission attempt.

Boitsov wants to control the pace but Kray is squirming around nicely.

Boitsov wants to finish this one by submission but Kray is holding onto his waist, trying to prevent any attacks from Boitsov.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Boitsov is going oldschool here, as he tries to force Kray to tap using a forearm choke. This isn't 1993 though, so Kray shrugs it off.

Boitsov has hold of Kray's left arm, perhaps looking for a submission. The two fighters tussle over control of the isolated limb and Kray manages to get his arm back to his side and away from danger.

Boitsov working from mount. He moves in close and looks like he might be going for an arm triangle... He's hopped off to the side and he's transitioned into an Anaconda choke. Kray turning a nasty shade of purple. He's refusing to tap but he's gone! He's out! The ref rips Boitsov off and cradles Kray's limp body as Boitsov celebrates with his corner.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:40 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Anaconda Choke). Dmitry Boitsov!
After winning the bout, Dmitry Boitsov thanked all his fans and promised he'd do even better in his next fight. The crowd seemed to love his humility.
