Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Troy Hooper (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Immortal Technique (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Technique has chosen Eye in the sky as his entrance music. This should be a great matchup!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
9 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Troy Hooper! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
6 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Immortal Technique! The judges for this bout are Ryoma Takatsuka, Chris Saunders and Josh West.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Technique goes to the watering hole and comes back with a big thumbs up from the judges as he scores a three punch combo. Hooper misses with a head kick.
Hooper keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl. Troy Hooper seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Hooper connects with a lovely right hand, straight down the pipe.
It looks like Immortal Technique has been cut. Technique has a nice red mark on his side after a thudding body kick by Hooper. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Technique tries to check a leg kick but that clearly hurt him. Hooper lands with a cross. Technique gets his head snapped back by a nice shot there.
That's one minute gone in the round. Hooper throws a big shot that misses. Hooper scores with a decent looking hook. Hooper misses with a straight right. Technique with the counter takedown but Hooper avoids it easily. Hooper tries a switch kick but it misses it's target. Technique is loading up here, looking for a big counter of his own. Hooper will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Hooper throws an overhand right that lands on Technique's shoulder, as Technique tries to avoid the shot. Technique drops down looking to force a counter takedown but Hooper defends it well. Technique avoids a lazy jab quite easily. Technique with the counter takedown but Hooper avoids it easily. Hooper connects with a lovely right hand, straight down the pipe.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Technique takes an uppercut right on the button but keeps his composure.

Hooper throws an overhand right that lands on Technique's shoulder, as Technique tries to avoid the shot. Hooper misses with a hook. Technique ducked under it nicely. Technique throws a counter combo. Hooper lands with a straight right. Technique didn't see that one coming. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Hooper pivots as if he's going to throw a leg kick but stops half way. A nice leg kick lands there from Hooper.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Good standup being displayed there by Hooper as he connects with a hook. Technique slips a straight right by Hooper. And Technique tries to counter it with a takedown but Hooper pushes his down on his head and steps out. Technique uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Hooper. Troy Hooper is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. Hooper scores with a nice right hand.

A big left from Hooper misses. Hooper misses with a kick to the body and Technique counters with a takedown into side control. Technique sitting in side control, looking to soften his opponent up with elbows and hammerfists but Hooper is avoiding damage well and looking to escape the position.
Technique in side control, throwing shots but Hooper defends. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Hooper is positioning himself to get back to half guard.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Hooper manages to get one leg in to regain half guard. Technique prevents Hooper from improving his position. Hooper keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound. Technique missing with the ground and pound from half guard. Technique is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Hooper is just riding it out for now. Technique eventually gives up the hold. Technique not landing any meaningful shots this time. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Technique is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.
Technique is looking for a kimura but Hooper is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Technique to get the leverage. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Troy Hooper dominated that round. The cut man is working on Immortal Technique's cut. The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.
Technique has a takedown stuffed. Hooper feinted there with a counter leg kick. Hooper misses with a double jab
and Technique moves into the clinch. Hooper can't find room to land a body shot as Technique controls the action.
A head punch blocked on the inside by Technique. Hooper misses with a short punch on the inside. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Hooper working some nice short punches in the clinch. Hooper lands a hook to the side of the head. I was talking to Hooper's coach per-fight and he was telling me that they'd been working on the clinch in the runup to this fight. Technique manages to pull guard.
Technique had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Hooper defends it easily. Hooper is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Technique can do to turn this around? Hooper with a nice head shot there.
That's one minute gone in the round. Hooper lands a couple of digs. Hooper avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
Technique looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.
Hooper working from the guard for now, landing some ground and pound. Hooper wants to control from the top but Technique keeps moving. Technique looking for a sweep. Not yet Technique, not yet. Technique working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Hooper doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Hooper manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem. Technique is looking for a triangle here but Hooper uses the submission attempt to pass into side control.

That's two minutes gone in the round. Technique is looking for a sweep. Technique has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan. Check out the look on Hooper's face as he threw that strike - that's one determined fighter!
Technique is looking to regain half guard here but Hooper keeps moving and retains side control. Hooper working the ground and pound. Technique bucks up and manages to escape back to his feet! Technique shoots and misses and Hooper counters with a one-two to the body. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Technique looks to score with a combo but nothing lands. Hooper throws a hook but Technique avoids it easily. Hooper connects with a body shot that sends Technique's belly button to the back.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Hooper misses with an uppercut. Technique saw that one coming. Hooper scores with a reasonable looking shot to the body. Technique doesn't seem bothered though. Technique shoots in looking for a takedown but Hooper manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Technique's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away. Troy Hooper has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Immortal Technique. The fighters circle momentarily. Hooper darts into range and connects with a nice straight punch. Hooper dips down and scores with a jab to the body. Hooper dances in quickly and lands a nice inside leg kick on Technique. That did some damage! Hooper misses with an uppercut. Hooper fakes a jab and then connects with a hook.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Technique looks shocked there as he takes a right hand to the temple. Hooper lands a nice looking body kick. Hooper connects with a leg kick. Technique looked like he was expecting something else and didn't defend it. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Hooper misses with a kick to the body.
Hooper looks to land a left hand but Technique moved out of range nicely. Technique unleashes a big counter combination but Hooper bobs and weaves and avoids any damage. Hooper misses with the combination.
Technique takes a punch right to his stomach. That took the wind out of him momentarily. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Technique has his hands up protecting his head but a hook from Hooper finds it's way round the side to connect with Technique's head. Hooper throws a shot to the body.
Hooper leaves Technique with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt. Hooper was looking to counter that move with a punch but didn't quite pull the trigger. Technique uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Hooper.
Technique with the counter takedown but Hooper avoids it easily. Hooper jabs Technique right on the nose. Technique blinks but takes it well. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Hooper connects with a crisp jab. Hooper throws a right hand that Technique ducks under and follows up with a left that Technique also avoids with ease. Hooper keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.

That's going to take a lot out of Immortal Technique. Hooper throws a sloppy head kick and Technique moves out of range easily. Technique uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Hooper. Hooper throws a nice outside leg kick. Good shot there by Hooper. Technique throws a series of punches but Hooper moves out of range.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Technique shakes his hands off, looking to compose himself, but takes a jab to the jaw whilst he does it. Hooper digs a good hook to Technique's body.
Technique takes a shot to the nose. Hopefully that hasn't broken it.
That has opened up Immortal Technique's cut even more. A solid leg kick lands there for Hooper.
Hooper wings a very wild body shot but it does the job and lands to the midsection. This has been an exciting period of action! Hooper loads up on a big right hand but Technique slips the punch. Despite the aggression on Technique's face he doesn't fully commit to the counter. Hooper throws out a token jab with nothing on it. Technique steps in looking to clinch after the strikes miss from Hooper. Hooper throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Hooper misses with a body shot.
Hooper sets himself, and Technique steps forward looking for the clinch! Hooper avoids it this time. Hooper swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Hooper uses good footwork to get in and out and land a nice right hand before Technique has time to react. Hooper throws a leg kick but Technique sees it coming and checks it nicely. Technique drops down looking to force a counter takedown but Hooper defends it well. Technique takes a really solid shot there but just smiles back and shrugs his shoulders.

That's four minutes gone in the round. Hooper dips down and scores with a jab to the body. Technique on the wrong end of a vicious looking body shot. Technique takes a thudding leg kick, right into the meat of the thigh. Technique blocks the body kick.
Despite the aggression on Technique's face he doesn't fully commit to the counter. Technique uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Hooper. As Hooper backs off Technique throws a huge counter combo but Hooper manages to avoid it all. Technique dives in and grabs Hooper's left leg, looking for a takedown. Hooper pushes down on Technique's head and hops out. Technique bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes. Immortal Technique has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! A telegraphed takedown attempt from Technique is defended easily by Hooper.
And that's the end of the fight! Troy Hooper showed his dominance in that final round. Well I reckon that's a shut out for Hooper, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
