Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Steve Taylor (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Caleb Wright (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Taylor comes to the cage accompanied by Paint in Black. The key to victory for Steve Taylor has got to be keeping the fight on the feet.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of London, Steve Taylor! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Caleb Wright! The judges for this bout are Donald Grub, Daniel Bishop and Richard Clark.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Taylor shoots for a takedown but Wright saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily. Wright looks like he wants to counter punch here. Taylor misses with a jab, cross combination.
Wright unleashes a big counter combination but Taylor bobs and weaves and avoids any damage. Wright shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Taylor napping and manages to drive through into side control! The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Wright taking a breather here. Let's hope that Wright has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight. Taylor is putting a lot of effort into getting back to his feet here. A lull in the action here. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. It looks like Wright might be adopting somewhat of a lay and pray gameplan here, which I'm sure won't go down too well with the paying fans in attendance... Or the ring announcers come to think of it. Wright is continuing to stall.
That's one minute gone in the round. The adventures of Wright the control monster continue. Boring. Wright is trying to get an arm triangle but Taylor is defending well. The referee tells the fighters to keep busy. Wright tries to score with some ground and pound. Taylor controls his posture well this time though and the shots don't do any damage. Taylor gets back to half guard. Taylor blocking the ground and pound attempt from Wright. Taylor is looking to escape. We've been hearing good reports from Taylor's training camp. Apparently he has been rolling around with some good quality BJJ practitioners and has been sharpening his skills. Let's see if that has an impact on the fight today. Taylor tries to roll over but Wright keeps him under control. Wright stops Taylor from getting back to his feet.

That's two minutes gone in the round. Wright works his way into side control. Taylor is looking to regain half guard here but Wright keeps moving and retains side control. Wright has knee on belly and moves into mount. The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now. Wright controlling the position easily from mount. Wright looking to control but Taylor is working nicely, looking to advance position himself. Wright is in a good position here but he's just trying to control... And he's not even managing to do that successfully. Wright controlling his opponent.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Wright fails to take his opponent's back. Taylor tries to hold on but Wright postures up. Wright controlling from mount. We've been informed that Wright has been working hard on his conditioning in the buildup to the fight. Taylor is trying desperately to improve position. Wright wants to control the pace but Taylor is squirming around nicely. Taylor wants to hold on but Wright pushes him away.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Wright controlling the pace for now. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Taylor somehow manages to escape the mount and get back to his feet! Wright dives in and scores a takedown into Taylor's guard. Wright is stalling in the full guard. Wright tries to free his leg and advance position but Taylor is retaining full guard. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Taylor wants to stand up but Wright is controlling him. Wright pushes down on Taylor's leg and manages to get into half guard. This has been an exciting period of action! Taylor wants to improve his position but Wright is controlling well.

Wright shoots for a takedown but Taylor saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily. Wright has been the more effective fighter overall so far. Taylor throws a left and a right that both miss
and Wright decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Taylor's guard. Wright sitting in guard here, content to control. Taylor has managed to wall walk up one of the corner posts to get back to his feet. Wright is pushing him up against the cage, looking to control the position. Wright's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does. Steve Taylor is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Wright closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth. Taylor throws his opponent off and manages to get back to his feet! Nicely done! The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Taylor throws a combination that misses and Wright counters with a shoot takedown. Taylor fights it but they end up in guard. Wright stays in close to Taylor's body and controls the position. Taylor wants to stand and escape but Wright is having none of it. Caleb Wright has got the better of the ground game so far. Wright not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.
That's one minute gone in the round. Wright slips effortlessly into side control - very nice. Taylor is in a bad spot here and he knows it... just holding on for now. Wright tries to advance to mount but Taylor denies him. Wright wants to lay and pray for a moment but Taylor keeps working. You can see the frustration on Taylor's face, being in this tough position on the bottom. Wright advances nicely into full mount. Wright trying to control but he's not successful this time.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Wright throwing sloppy strikes here. Perhaps if he tightened up his striking from such a dominant position, he'd be able to finish easier.
Wright is looking to work his way around to Taylor's back. He needs to be careful though, as he's in danger of losing this dominant position. Wright controlling the position easily from mount. We're seeing a lot of stalling here from Wright. Taylor is looking to get to half guard. Wright wants to take Taylor's back here but Taylor is holding on to an arm, himself looking to escape.

Wright is looking to pass the guard... He's managed it - he's now in full mount! Wright throws some wild stikes that Taylor manages to avoid easily.

Taylor is squirming around, avoiding Wright's attempts to control the action. Wright controlling from the full mount. Taylor keeping his composure momentarily, calmly looking to get back to half guard.
Wright takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though. Taylor is trying to get back to his feet but can't. Wright controlling the position easily from mount. Wright jumps to side control looking for an arm triangle but Taylor manages to avoid the submission attempt. Caleb Wright showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action! This is the final round!

It's preventing any offense from Wright, at least for the moment. Taylor wants to get back to his feet but Wright is in a dominant position and won't allow it. Taylor has butterfly guard. He's looking to stand up here. He pushes Wright off him and springs to his feet nicely. The crowd applauds. Taylor throws a lazy right hand but Wright sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Taylor is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Wright is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him. Wright landing with strikes to the body and head, softening up his opponent. Wright takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position. Taylor is looking to escape. Wright looking to pass the half guard. Not this time. Taylor is in trouble now - Wright has advanced to mount! Wright looking to control and managing it successfully. Taylor is writhing around trying to get back to his feet.
