Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Rashad Wilkinson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Sterling Archer (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Wilkinson comes to the cage accompanied by The Game is Over. Archer has chosen Kenny Loggins - Danger Zone as his entrance music. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 14 - 9 - 0, fighting out of New York, Sterling Archer!
The judges for this bout are Eddie Farnsworth, John Kavanagh and Anthony Taglia.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Wilkinson takes a kick to the body and keeps moving.
Wilkinson takes a head kick and shrugs it off.
Wilkinson tries to move into range but Archer moves to the side and lands with a nice right hand.
Archer digs a good hook to Wilkinson's body.
Wilkinson looks to throw the jab but Archer is out of range.
Archer lands a leg kick. The shin dug right into the meat of the thigh.
Archer throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Wilkinson looks to land a left hand but Archer moved out of range nicely.
Archer throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Wilkinson fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Archer manages to avoid it.
A slapping body kick lands there for Archer.

Archer goes for a spinning back kick but it misses.

Rashad Wilkinson seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Wilkinson has been talking about how he's improved his wrestling in the run up to the fight so let's see if that's enough to sway the balance.
Archer lands a head kick. Wilkinson smiles back at him and beckons him forward.
Sterling Archer is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Wilkinson wings a very wild body shot but it does the job and lands to the midsection.

Wilkinson changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Archer tries to avoid it but Wilkinson manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Archer to the ground. Archer escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Wilkinson is really head hunting here, hardly looking to strike to the body at all.
Archer dances in quickly and lands a nice inside leg kick on Wilkinson. That did some damage!

Wilkinson pivots, looking for a leg kick but Archer is out of range and Wilkinson settles back down.

Wilkinson's jab looks to have found its range, popping Archer under the eye.
Wilkinson misses with a left hand
and Archer makes him pay by landing a nice hook to the body before moving out of range.
Wilkinson connects nicely with a jab. Noted by the judges no doubt.

Wilkinson dives in for a single leg takedown but Archer sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Rashad Wilkinson. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Wilkinson uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Archer.
Like a baseball bat into the meat of his leg there - nice leg kick by Archer.

A looping hook to the body misses from Wilkinson. Archer does a little dance to reset his feet.
Archer moves away from the strike by Wilkinson.
Archer throws a push kick but Wilkinson slaps the foot to one side.
Wilkinson on the receiving end of a decent leg kick there by Archer. Archer obviously looking to wear him down.
Wilkinson looks to land a left hand but Archer moved out of range nicely.
Archer lands a nice leg kick that just misses Wilkinson's sensitive parts.
Archer throws a feint and then finishes with a kick to the body.
Archer connects with a leg kick. He turned his hip over nicely there.
Archer is throwing a lot of body shots here, looking to wear down Wilkinson rather than just go for the knockout.
Wilkinson swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target.
Wilkinson misses with a looping left.
Archer was about to counter that last move with a leg kick but changes his mind.

and Archer counters with a nice leg kick.
Wilkinson is breathing heavily.

Archer lands a big head kick that sends Wilkinson tumbling to the mat! Archer takes a step backwards and waves Wilkinson back to his feet - he wants the finish!

It looks like Rashad Wilkinson has been cut.
The crowd applaud the fighters' efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Archer lands with a nice body punch.
Oh Wilkinson is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Wilkinson misses with an uppercut
and Archer counters with a shot to the ribs. That looked like it hurt.
That's a knee to de groin and it's over and out! Wilkinson crumples to the ground after an illegal strike from Archer - the referee stops the clock and Wilkinson gets 5 minutes to recover from that one. "I'm sorry" says Archer. Wilkinson manages to get back to his feet and the fight resumes.
Wilkinson seems to have got his legs back now.
Archer bobs and weaves and then throws a good body kick.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Sterling Archer dominated that round.
Both fighters have cut men working on them during the interval.
That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.


Archer fakes a couple of low kicks, before throwing one on the third attempt. It connects and Wilkinson has to reset his feet before getting ready to engage.

This entire fight has taken place on the feet so far and you wonder whether Wilkinson might be better served trying to take this one to the ground because he's losing the standup battle so far.

and Archer makes the exchange count by landing a cracking kick to the body. Wilkinson really felt that one!

Wilkinson cracks Archer with a hook to the jaw. Both fighters smile at eachother and high-five before getting back down to business.
Wilkinson throws a lazy right hand but Archer sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.
Archer avoids a lazy jab quite easily.
Archer connects with a hook to the side of his opponent's head.
Archer has been the more effective fighter overall so far.
Archer scores with a push kick.

Sterling Archer decided to thank the fans in attendance for making a great atmosphere. It seemed to go down pretty well.
