PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Rancid Crabtree (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Dean Mason (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). On his way into the cage it seems that Rancid Crabtree has been attacked by a crazed fan! It looks like it might have been the just bleed guy! Luckily Rancid Crabtree seems to be OK! I thought that lunatic was in prison!?

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Mason throws a jab but it's blocked by Crabtree.
Crabtree throws a series of punches but Mason avoids them all with ease.
Mason has been working on his striking defense in training and it's paying off as Crabtree is landing a low percentage of strikes.
Mason misses with a hook. Crabtree ducked under it nicely.
Crabtree wants to take advantage of his opponent's missed offense by moving into the clinch.
Mason cracks a nice hook into Crabtree's ribs.
A chopping leg kick lands by Mason.
Mason throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Crabtree stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly.
Mason looking to land some kicks to the body here.
A quick step to the side and Crabtree tries to counter with a shot to the body but it doesn't connect.
Nice uppercut lands for Mason. That snapped Crabtree's head back.
Crabtree misses with a jab, cross combination.
Mason slips under a jab.
Mason looked like he wanted to counter with a punch but didn't throw it.
Crabtree shakes his hands off, looking to compose himself, but takes a jab to the jaw whilst he does it.

The fight moves into the clinch position.
A head punch blocked on the inside by Mason.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Mason throws a blind hook that connects with the side of Crabtrees head.
Mason blocks the elbow strike.
Crabtree is working hard here but doesn't seem to be able to control effectively, up against the cage.
Mason lands with a good tight uppercut to the head.
Mason can't find room to land a body shot as Crabtree controls the action.

Mason escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Mason goes for a spinning back kick but it misses.
Mason with a nice looking leg kick. You could hear that one land in a back row.
The fighters circle momentarily. Mason darts into range and connects with a nice straight punch.
Crabtree will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Oooooooooooh, not good. A low kick from Mason lands where it shouldn't have, right in the... well, you know what he did? He kicked him in the penis. He's injured, injured bad. The referee sends both fighters to their corners and Crabtree has 5 minutes to recover. He's OK now though... a thumbs up from Crabtree and we're back underway with a touch of gloves.
A jab from Mason finds it's way through Crabtree's defenses.
Mason throws a jab when Crabtree was well out of range.
Crabtree has his front leg slapped to the side - a nice low kick landing there from Mason.
Mason fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Crabtree looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath.
Crabtree lands a leg kick. The shin dug right into the meat of the thigh.
Mason on the wrong end of a nice low kick. He's acting like it's no big deal but he doesn't want to take many more of those.
Mason lands with a nice body kick.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

We've been told by Crabtree's head coaches at Montreal Fighter's Gym (5* Sparring) that he's been working on his takedown defense in preparation for this fight.
Mason swings away with a leg kick that misses.
Crabtree throws a nice looking combination but Mason bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
Crabtree uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Mason.

Mason throws a two punch combo that lands nicely.
A looping hook to the body misses from Mason. Crabtree does a little dance to reset his feet.
Mason throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Mason slips in close and lands a nice hook before moving back out of range.
A slow jab from Crabtree misses its intended target.
Mason misses with an uppercut
and Crabtree counters with a series of strikes. Mason will be more careful next time no doubt.

Mason misses with a lunging right hand
and Crabtree counters with a nice jab to the body that keeps Mason thinking.
Mason has used his reach advantage pretty well so far tonight.
Mason ducks under a wild hook from Crabtree.
Crabtree lands with a nice body punch.
Crabtree throws a head kick that connects with a bit of head and a bit of hand.
Crabtree checks the leg kick nicely there.
Crabtree has his head slapped from side to side by a 3 punch combination. That must have hurt him.

Crabtree is rocked!
Mason lands a straight punch to the body, keeping Crabtree at a distance.
Mason walks straight into a jab right on the nose. That one stung - he's blinking and trying to clear his head.
Mason stuns Crabtree with a nice body shot, before stepping back out of range.

Mason closes the distance and lands a one-two.
Oh Crabtree is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Mason drops Crabtree with a straight left! Oh this is bad for Crabtree! Mason dives in and starts dropping bombs - the referee has no choice but to step in and save him!
