The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Payton sizes up Khabilov with a pawing jab and scores with a straight right down the middle.
Payton throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Khabilov sees it coming and avoids it easily.

Payton dips down and scores with a jab to the body.
Khabilov takes a body punch that cleary hurt but he's trying not to show any weakness.
Payton closes this distance looking for a takedown but Khabilov circles away.

Payton feints a straight left to the body, then turns around with a flashy move and hits Khabilovs jaw with a dramatic spinning back fist!
Payton stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Payton wants it to stay on the feet.

Khabilov has been talking about how he's improved his wrestling in the run up to the fight so let's see if that's enough to sway the balance.
