The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Alves throws a head kick that misses.
Mortensson moves away from the strike by Alves.
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Mortensson.
A good leg kick by Alves.
Alves throws a body punch but Mortensson moves out of range.
Good work by Mortensson as he checks the leg kick.
Alves tries to clinch up but Mortensson circles away and keeps his distance.
Alves misses with a head kick.
Mortensson takes a head kick and keeps coming.
Alves looking to take his opponent's legs away with the low kicks.

Mortensson is in full mount, looking to secure a guillotine but Alves is surviving well by controlling Mortensson's body position as best he can.

Mortensson swings around for an armbar but it's a sloppy attempt and Alves is now in Mortensson's guard. A big mistake from Mortensson there, giving up the dominant position!

Alves gets to his feet. Mortensson looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son!
