Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Rory Anderson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Tanishi Toshiyuki (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Tanishi Toshiyuki struggled to make weight for this fight. He only made it down to 146.1lbs at the first attempt and had to take the additional two hours to make the official bout weight. Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
3 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Rory Anderson ! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Tanishi Toshiyuki! The judges for this bout are Taro Takaoka, Shirou Masuda and Shigeki Fujiwara.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Toshiyuki throws a nice hook to the body that draws an oooh from the crowd. Anderson fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging Toshiyuki to the ground. Anderson is now in Toshiyuki's guard. Anderson 's corner is telling him to maintain position. Anderson stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Toshiyuki swivels though and keeps the full guard. Anderson lands a couple of elbows. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Anderson is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control. Anderson stands and steps away. Toshiyuki gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game.
That's one minute gone in the round. Toshiyuki throws a left and a right that both miss
and Anderson counters with a shoot takedown into half guard. Anderson sitting and controlling from the half guard. Toshiyuki is refusing to be controlled, as Anderson sits in half guard. Anderson trying to pass the guard but Toshiyuki defending well. Anderson not throwing his punches with enough precision this time.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Anderson content to sit in half guard and control for a moment. The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup. Anderson sitting in half guard, looking to land shots. Toshiyuki defending well though.
The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity. Anderson tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Toshiyuki defends well and Anderson ends up having to push Toshiyuki into the ropes where they will battle it out in the clinch. Anderson looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Toshiyuki is fending him off so far but Anderson persists. Nope, Toshiyuki circles away and we're back to standing. Anderson fails with the takedown and Toshiyuki counters with a straight right hand. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Rory Anderson . That's going to take a lot out of him. A right-left combo lands from Toshiyuki. Toshiyuki throws a left and a right that both miss
and Anderson counters by moving into the clinch. Good anticipation by Anderson .

Anderson has had enough of the clinch but Toshiyuki keeps him there for the moment. Toshiyuki tries to work over Anderson 's body with a swooping hook but it only glances the target.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so. Anderson pulls guard successfully.
Anderson looking for a sweep. Not yet Anderson , not yet. Anderson is trying to keep Toshiyuki in close.
Anderson looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.
Toshiyuki wants to stand but Anderson is controlling his posture from full guard. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. There's a bit of a scramble here and now Anderson is on top in guard.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Rory Anderson dominated that round. The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!
Anderson shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Anderson showed some decent athleticism there. Anderson controlling the action here. Toshiyuki is not content to let Anderson control the position. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Anderson slips a nice elbow through Toshiyuki's hands, connecting with Toshiyuki's forehead.

Anderson lands strikes from half guard. Anderson postures up and decides to stand up, from the half guard. The ref calls for Toshiyuki to stand up. Anderson instigates a clinch. Toshiyuki stops a takedown attempt from Anderson .

Toshiyuki rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Anderson moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Anderson clinches with his opponent.
Toshiyuki tries to break free but Anderson pushes him back against the ropes. Anderson misses with a punch to the body.
Toshiyuki tries to break the clinch but Anderson is controlling the position. Anderson tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Toshiyuki just stands there and leans against the ropes. Anderson goes for a takedown attempt but Toshiyuki pushes him away and we're back to fighting at a distance.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Rory Anderson . That's going to take a lot out of him. Anderson shoots in and gets a takedown into Toshiyuki's guard. Anderson tries to free his leg and advance position but Toshiyuki is retaining full guard.
That's three minutes gone in the round. A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Anderson accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand. Anderson forces his way into half guard. Toshiyuki won't allow Anderson to pass to mount. Anderson has hold of the far side arm. He's working for the Kimura, can Toshiyuki defend it? Anderson steps over the head and cranks it - Toshiyuki is tapping out! That was textbook stuff right there - nice submission victory for Anderson !
