PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Jack Simone (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ryo Bautista (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think Simone might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to If You Got The Money. Buckle up people - heeeeeeeeeere we go!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Jack Simone!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Ryo Bautista!
The judges for this bout are Kenichi Hosakawa, Shigeki Sano and Sosuke Kotani.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Bautista shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Simone as he avoids it easily.
Bautista dives in for a single leg takedown but Simone sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the ropes.
Bautista gets off balance looking for a body kick

and Simone counters with a nice double leg into side control. Bautista won't be happy with that.
Simone remains in side control and seems content to stay there. It's a versatile position from which he can work both strikes and submissions, whilst maintaining that control, so maybe he'll sit here for a while.
The fighters are tangled up in the ropes here. We might need a restart if the fighters can't break free themselves.
Bautista tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Simone wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

Well I reckon that's a shut out for Simone, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.

During a confident post fight interview, Jack Simone thanked all his fans. He seemed very genuine when describing how motivated his fans keep him.
The defeated Ryo Bautista had this to say: 'It was a well fought fight, I guess I didn't train hard enough, and the other guy just wanted it more. Props to him for his win, and next time I'll get out there and win. Thank you to my supporters next time guys'.
