PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Blind Shaman (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Justin Cider (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Shaman kept the crowd waiting but all that was forgotten when his ring entrance music started. The incomparable musical genius that is Shaman's Dream. Cider has chosen The Winner as his entrance music. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

and Cider cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.

Shaman comes forward and lands a shot to the body, then darts back out of range.
Shaman tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Cider was well out of range. Poor timing from Shaman.
Shaman throws the left hand but Cider avoids the punch easily.

Oooooooooooh, not good. A low kick from Shaman lands where it shouldn't have, right in the... well, you know what he did? He kicked him in the penis. He's injured, injured bad. The referee sends both fighters to their corners and Cider has 5 minutes to recover. He's OK now though... a thumbs up from Cider and we're back underway with a touch of gloves.
Shaman's jab looks to have found its range, popping Cider under the eye.

and Cider counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.
Shaman lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.

Shaman closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.

Shaman wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Cider , who protects the arm well.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Shaman swings around for an armbar but Cider sees it coming a mile off and turns beautifully into Shaman's guard.

Shaman has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Cider can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

Shaman escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Cider gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. This is the final round!

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Cider connects with a nice short shot to Shaman's temple.

That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Blind Shaman.
Well I reckon that's a shut out for Shaman, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
