Stamatis comes to the cage accompanied by Audiomachine - Earth Shaker. Van Roost is bobbing his head along to his entrance song: Cypress Hill - How I Could Just Kill A Man. The judges for this bout are Joseph Jones, Eddie Farnsworth and David Schapiro.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Stamatis takes a jab right on the nose. That must have hurt but he shrugs his shoulders and looks to return the favor.
Stamatis throws the left hand but Van Roost avoids the punch easily.
Van Roost fakes a jab and then connects with a hook.
It looks like Angelos Stamatis has been cut.
Stamatis avoids the body shot from Van Roost.
Stamatis shoots in for a takedown but Van Roost shows good takedown defense.
Van Roost appears to be waiting to throw a counter punch to the body.
Stamatis takes one on the chin but seems OK.
Van Roost getting the better of the striking in that exchange.
Stamatis is rocked!
Van Roost lands hard precision jab right on the jaw that stiffens Stamatis up and sends him tumbling to the mat! The ref grabs Van Roost from behind before he can pounce. Some folks in the crowd didn't like that stoppage, but I saw Stamatis's eyes roll way back in his head, he was done.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:33 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Michael Van Roost!
In his post fight interview, Michael Van Roost gave a big smile as he said '4 in a row now. Hahaha Mr.Universe you're next I am fucking sure!'.
