Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Troll Norris!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Ulises Gomez!
The judges for this bout are Micheangelo Fripello, Jeff Smith and Roger Salmon.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Gomez fails with a takedown attempt from distance.
Gomez fails with an attempt to clinch.
Norris scores with the left hand. Gomez knows he should have avoided that one.
Norris looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.
Gomez throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Norris.
Norris went nuts there looking for a big combo counter but none of the flurry connected.
Norris closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.
Norris goes for a takedown in the clinch but Gomez prevents it.
Norris manages to break the clinch.
Norris shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Gomez tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Norris manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
Gomez leaves Norris with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Troll Norris. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Norris tries to keep at a distance but Gomez has taken the fight into the clinch.
Norris really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

Gomez wants a takedown.
Norris is looking to take this one to the mat.
Norris manages to pull guard.
Norris is striking off his back. Gomez thinks nothing of it though and passes easily into half guard.
Gomez seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Norris does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.
Gomez working over Norris with some ground and pound. Norris looks like he wants out of this position, which is understandable.
Norris is not content to let Gomez control the position.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Norris wants to improve his position but Gomez is controlling well.
Norris is in trouble now - Gomez has advanced to mount!
That's two minutes gone in the round.
Norris is writhing around trying to get back to his feet.
Norris tries to improve his position but Gomez has taken his back! Gomez has a choke - it's sunk in pretty tight... Will Norris tap? No... maybe... yes! He's tapped! Gomez pushes Norris away and gets up to celebrate with his corner!
