Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Will Hairston! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
3 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Ed Hadry! The judges for this bout are Arvi Lind, Johanna Lukiainen and Tarja Halkonen.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Hairston swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Hairston misses with a few strikes there.
That's a knee to de groin and it's over and out! Hairston crumples to the ground after an illegal strike from Hadry - the referee stops the clock and Hairston gets 5 minutes to recover from that one. "I'm sorry" says Hadry. Hairston manages to get back to his feet and the fight resumes. Will Hairston seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Hadry keeps Hairston at a distance using the push kick. Hairston throws a push kick but Hadry slaps the foot to one side. Hairston takes a body kick right on the floating rib. Ouchie.
Hairston jabbing away but nothing is landing. Hairston feints and as Hadry raises his hands in defense, Hairston changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Hadry is actively looking for submissions from his back. He's worked himself a little space on the bottom and seems to be going for a triangle. No, he's switched into an armbar! That was slick! Hairston rolls with it to try and escape but Hadry cranks on the arm and Hairston is forced to tap out! This one is aaaaaaaaall over!
