The judges for this bout are Bruno Lombardi, Reed Andrews and Joseph Jones.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Vanderonne shoots in for a takedown but McGuire Jr shows good takedown defense.
McGuire Jr attempts a counter takedown but Vanderonne avoids it well and moves away.
Vanderonne rushes in with a sloppy looking punch
and McGuire Jr counters with a thumping low kick.
Vanderonne misses with a left hand
and McGuire Jr counters with a leg kick.
Vanderonne wants to clinch up but McGuire Jr keeps it at a distance.
Vanderonne tries to keep at a distance but McGuire Jr has taken the fight into the clinch.
Vanderonne tries to break free but McGuire Jr pushes him back against the cage.
McGuire Jr jumps guard.
Vanderonne preventing the sweep.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Vanderonne's corner is telling him to maintain position.
McGuire Jr wants to sweep here but Vanderonne controlling him for the moment.
Vanderonne has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of McGuire Jr is proving hard to escape from.

Vanderonne looking to sit in guard and control but McGuire Jr gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.

McGuire Jr's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.
Vanderonne working a defensive guard but McGuire Jr manages to pass into side control anyway.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Vanderonne is looking for a sweep.
The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.
Vanderonne tries to close the distance and clinch up but McGuire Jr swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Vanderonne misses with an uppercut
and McGuire Jr decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Vanderonne's guard.
Vanderonne wants to get back to his feet but McGuire Jr passes into half guard.

Vanderonne is looking to get full guard. It looks like he might be successful but at the last minute McGuire Jr jumps into side control!
Vanderonne can't do much from the bottom here.
McGuire Jr is staying tight to Vanderonne's torso, preventing him from escaping.

Vanderonne is positioning himself to get back to half guard.

Vanderonne swings wildly with a couple of big hooks
and McGuire Jr counters with a crisp one two that drops Vanderonne! McGuire Jr thinks about following him to the mat for a moment but instead steps back and waves Vanderonne to his feet! Vanderonne is in big trouble!
Vanderonne swings away with a body shot that misses
and McGuire Jr counters with a stiff right hand.
Vanderonne is rocked!
Vanderonne throws a combination that misses
and McGuire Jr counters with a deadly accurate combination that rocks Vanderonne badly! He tries to strike back but McGuire Jr puts an end to that with another precision combo that knocks Vanderonne out cold! Oh man, Vanderonne will never hear the end of this one!

A relieved looking Ralph McGuire Jr thanked the fans for their support and gave the usual line about them being amazing. They seemed to believe that he actually meant it.
